I enjoyed it and everything but I do agree that its somewhat overrated. People act like its the best game of all time, which i defiantly dissagree with.

The game did have a good story and a heck of good characters.
Very solid game and is a 8.5/10 for me personally.

Agree I like the game but it is indeed very overrated. The game is short and the world felt way to empty to me. I liked fighting the colossus but after you beat the last one(who was highly disappointing by the way) then theirs really no more reason to play the game again.

It's certainly unique. Its unorthodox presentation was wngaging to the point where it kept me playing. But I never understood why people thought it was something to write home about.

It always seemed as though people praised it for being different, as if tokenly braking conventional gaming barriers somehow earned it instaneous acclaim (see also: PoP: SoT). That's rather stupid.

You realize by whining you're just feeding the "new days" of it being "boring". I hate when people make comments like this. They aren't creative enough to come up with any meaningful response so they just continuously post about how you should blog it, or how everything sucks now. get over it.

Most of those points you listed as flaws are actually whats makes the game so great in the first place.

Lets start with the framerate yes the framerate may seem like it dips at times, but no I think it's intentional, it fits in with with the realistic movements of how the collosus move and the characters movement. This aint a game with fast paced gameplay where talking about here. You just want the game on fast forward because like most gamers are too lazy.

Crappy controls? Again, they move in a realistic fasion. Agro moves and controls like you'd expect a horse to move and control.

Muckey graphics? The graphics add the the atmosphere, it's a disgarded barren wasteland how else is it going to look. It's just you and the damn collosus.

Some gamers just can't appreciate a work of art because they are either too lazy, too simple minded or either just plain shallow. An then you have graphic whores and perfectionists. Just STFU please. Stop complaining about small things.

Stabbing those poor colossi...I almost wish the game gave you the option NOT to do it. Bread_or_Decide

I propose a new word filter for gamespot. Every time someone says X game is overrated it word filters to "I do not enjoy X game unlike most others"

I think the people that bash SOTC and call it boring,make the same face as the dog in Captainharley's avatar when they're playing their' "not boring", "Xtreme action packed",hardcore twitch shooters like halo and call of duty".

Its very overrated.

Its fun and epic when you play it but their are alot of things I did not really like about the game. And once you beat the game then you have almost no reason to play it again.

Complaining about a last-gen game for being last gen? Okay....

I picked it up the other day because it's supposedly amazing, here is what I see: horrid framerate, mucky graphics, crappy controls, fantastic music, boring world (largely cause of the color layout), horse is a pain in the arse to control, etc. I don't see how this game got great reviews, sure the colossi are fun, but it's meh. I'm a little more than half way through the game and while it gets good at certain parts, the whole package isn't as great as the reviewers said it was. I have ICO and never played it, I'll get around to that one when I feel like it.
