Just saw this review. pretty much sum up everything.
claim nothing about this game is actually good yet critics are giving 9/10 from all over mainstream sites (like IGN). also claim its another soulless AAA game.

Give it a rest dude... it's getting old.
my friend, its not me who review it. most of times youtubers are right because they are not afraid to lose the job if they gave negative review to a game that is praise on big mainstream sites.
I'm not that far in the game, and it's decent so far. It is a good thing this is the last one, though. The series is becoming a bit long in the tooth; this one definitely feels a bit worse than Rise.
As usual, he's got a lot of valid complaints and a fair bit I disagree with. I don't think he says anything particularly original in this one but I still get a chuckle out of hearing him justify his recommendations.

I like the change of scenery in this one. The gameplay may be a bit samey, but isn't that a thing for sequels ? to reiterate and improve a bit ?

Change of scenery is nice. I am only so far into the game, 2 hours. It says 3 on Steam, but I started it on Deadly Obsession difficulty, and didn't realize you'd have to do the entire tutorial again and died near the end. So, I switched it to the one below that. lol From what I've played, the guns feel worse to shoot than in Rise.
@DragonfireXZ95: Damn. How is the stealth ? I liked that mud feature when it was first shown. But it seems very scripted ?
Only experienced a tiny amount, so can't really comment on that. Also haven't run into the ability to cover in mud, yet. The tutorial before you reach the first fire is fairly long.
@ghosts4ever: Why do you hate women so much?
hating tomb raider means hating women?? what?
I respect women, im not sexist and even if this game had male protagonist. i would not like it too.
Why should I care what some random youtuber says, especially one that you watch?
i mean look at the distance between mainstream sites and youtubers. it appears that youtubers like mack, jim sterling, GGGmanlives are far more credible than professional critics.
gone are the days when you have to watch professtional critics reviewers to make a decision. now there are bunch of youtubers who can speak anything without hesitation.
This whole reboot series was so overrated. They're barely platformers. And, yes, new Lara is boring. I'm hearing that this game has much less combat. The problem with the previous two wasn't that there was too much combat, it was that the combat was no good. She should be far more mobile while shooting. Let me fire from the hip and use gymnastics. I really don't get why that kind of over the top action is dead now. What's wrong with Lara doing cartwheels?
Oh yeah, it's because everything in gaming needs to be super serious and authentic now. Give me a break. Gamers today have such shit taste in everything. The combat in these games just sucks.

its sad no one today make third person game as good as max payne 3. or no one tries too. either you get shitty uncharted clones or you get some boring open world games.
I've been having a good time with it. The gameplay mechanics are still >>>> Uncharted's, and the Peruvian jungle is a great setting. looks very good and runs well on PC.
story/characters remain a weak point, but other than that I've been liking everything i've done so far.
I think its very much in line with the last two games in terms of quality, your opinion on the series probably wont change much with this one
The game looks more of the same but I'll get it once it hits the bargain bin.
I still haven't beat ROTR yet because the story is boring me. I loved TR2013 a lot though and sank many hours into it but so far ROTR hasn't been able to keep my attention.
I like worth a buy reviews but I also enjoy these types of games.
I find it funny how quickly lemmings jump to defend this game when they constantly say shit about Uncharted. This is basically a poor-man's Uncharted. Still good for me though.
This is the only thing they have on their console that's remotely comparable to Uncharted so they like to pretend it's an exclusive lol.
To those of us who have access to PS4s and both games we can see it for the poor man's Uncharted it is.
@quadknight:
Uncharted sucks ass though.
I beg to differ. If Uncharted sucks then SOTTR sucks even more since its a poorly done Uncharted clone.
@ezekiel43: DMC5 says otherwise.
I hope Capcom actually allows them to finish the game this time and that's it's a worthy successor to DMC3 and that it sells a lot of copies.
Shouldn't even be allowed to be called tomb raider. Besides, you play the first reboot and you played them all, rinse and repeat, modern gamers do like the same old shit every time.

I've also yet to complete it, been in my steam library for a long time, got to the end somewhere I think. Kinda forced myself to play it.

but my friend you have shenmue avatar which is rinse and repeat game consist of talk to this person, talk to that, find this, find that, QTE, QTE, talk to him, talk to her.
mind you I like shenmue games quite a bit but they are not different than cinematic movie games..
@ghosts4ever: By that logic Doom is also a movie game since it's just go there, kill enemies , go to the next areas , kill enemies.(And maybe some exploration for powerups)

except TR actually has fun gameplay

In your opinion maybe, I’ve been falling asleep playing ROTR.

i actually agree, ROTR did not hold my interest as well as TR2013. the story didn't grab me and something about the pacing was off.
5 hours in to the new one, i'm liking it more than the second so far but we'll see. It brings back some of the mystery/horror elements that I liked in the 2013 one though the overarching story is still lame.
still, from a gameplay standpoint, i'd take any of the Tomb Raiders over any of the Uncharted's. UC's gameplay has always been incredibly bland when something crazy isn't happening.
UC kicks TR's butt in terms of story/characters and set pieces though.
Interesting to see if it's the end of the series.
Tomb Raider isn't dead. It's just going to reboot again. I have a feeling it's going to be something for the worse.

Dumbest thing I have hear all day! Uncharted is and also will be a crappy TR clone, only #1 was any good.
