No, looking at Sam Fisher with his emo beard makes you emo. The Darkness has some slapped on multiplayer. It seems all the beta testers enjoyed Shadowrun.
Depends. Shadowrun is a multiplayer eccentric game while Darkness is based off a comic novel and will have an engrossing single player. Shadowrun doesn't even have a single player to speak of.

I was a beta tester for Shadowrun, and while I enjoyed it and I'll be buying the full game on Wednesday...., it can't live up to The Darkness. The Darkness will have good multiplayer. I have faith in Starbreeze.

Some people like multiplayer better than single player
I know I just figure it is pointless to make a game with no Single player and only have Multiplayer, but that is my Opinion because I buy the game because of the Single Player and then I keep playing it because of the Multiplayer.
id rent over buying either, but if u must have ne, id say the darkness. its campaign looks really good but the mp looks like a lil addon with no retaining value. on the other hand, shadowrun only has mp, but the mp looks pretty lame anyways.
There's a Shadowrun demo coming out June 6th. Wait and play that.
I respect both FASA (Dev's of Shadowrun) and Starbreeze (Makers of Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay). Shadowrun looks cool, but you DO have to consider how much you're getting for your money. Shadowrun is multiplayer only, 9 maps and two gametypes, no custom matches, clans or customization or anything. The Darkness has a seemingly tacked on Multiplayer and some interesting single player. The Darkness probably has more content, but who knows. When you play the Shadowrun demo you may decide that it's gameplay alone is enough to merit the price, despite not being a very full game.
Depends if you like pure multiplayer or single-player with less-emphasised multiplayer. The Darkness' developers have made some brilliant games, whereas Shadowrun IMO is a soulless FPS cash-in on an excellent pen-and-paper RPG system with potential to be an amazing WRPG. I'm STILL annoyed about that.
