This review makes no sense, let me tell you why. Its the exact same as the PS2 version. The PS2 version got a 8.5(?). But the Wii got a 5.9 because of the Wiimote controls. This would of been valid IF and I'm going to put IF in bold. The clasic controller couldn't be used, but it can! Thus making it the EXACT same as the PS2 version. lol
Um...the standards are really different. If a next gen console gives you the same exact game as a last gen console, that should give that next gen game a much lower score. So that 5.9 is justified. You're right, without the wiimote, it's the same EXACT game as the PS2 game. Which is why it got such a low score.
No thats not it at all. Have you even looked at the review for both the ps2 and Wii version? They both have the exact same scores in all areas EXCEPT the controls. Which is why it scored lower. Please for your sake, think before you post.
Have you looked at what it says? " If you have the clasic Controller though, you're basically getting the PS2 experience which is a great time." - You think a PS2 experience on the wii deserves 8.5? Then your standards for this gen is way too low.
Personally I'm not a big fan of GGXX. With that said, its comical how you are blindly trying to judge my perspective. When you obviously don't see it. GGXX is a 2D fighting game that has been milked for the last 6 years. The only thing that could improve graphically for that series is to add frames of animation. Which they may or may not have done. Nonetheless the game would look the exact same on the PS3 and 360. However the game still looks pretty good, especially seeing that there aren't a lot of other 2D fighters on the market to prove that other wise. So I'm going to ask you, show me a 2D fighter that isn't last gen? Did you know that SNK has been using the same sprites for most of their characters since the 90s? Talk about last gen.
Anyhow, my point remains that its essentially the exact game with the option to use multiple control schemes. Which the reviewer gave a overall score based upon one of them.
Ok. My point is a next gen game that is "essentially the exact game" as a last gen game doesn't deserve the same score. If there is no way they can make it better for a next gen console, then it shouldn't be made. Either way, wii game = ps2 game = worse score. Period.
