[QUOTE="GundamGuy0"]Did anyone stop to think that perhaps the update broke it with out them knowing they broke it... Just saying it's possible they changed something that broke it inadverntenly. Companies aren't always out to get you.

They probly did stop it... but we don't know for sure.elektrixxx

This update specifically targets the bug that Freeloader uses to run, but Nintendo's bigger concern would be to do with pirates basing their efforts on this bug, called the "trucha-signing" bug.

So basicly, they fixed a bug in their system and people are getting their panties in a bunch over that:) Weird, I say.

So let me get this straight: You're mad at Nintendo, because they decided to block a piece of software, specifically designed to circumvent a design feature that they put into their hardware, that you were aware was in there.

Yes, it would be nice if all systems were region free, and all games were released at the same time everywhere, but this is never going to happen. It's been clear from the start that the Wii was regionlocked, if some gamers chose to get around that, they knew it was possibly a short term solution. I don't feel sorry for them really.

finally, someone with some sense.

Basically, you're no longer capable of doing what you weren't meant to do in the first place.

Nintendo is worse than Apple. Apple bricked iPhones with 3rd-party apps, and people complained. So what did Mr. Steve do? He announced a free iPhone SDK and opened the iPhone up to developers, creating a good ecosystem for Apple-and more money. Kudos to Apple for that.

But Nintendo? They punish people who want to play their games by blocking it. Way to just completely screw over your faithful fans, Nintnedo. What will happen next? Kick Shigeru Miyamoto out of Nintendo? Seriously, take plays out of Apples playbook. It will help you.

Owned? hardly. The majority of Wii players could care less about Freeloader and the Twilight Princess game save hack. If anything it's probably for better, seeing as how Nintendo released it in the first place.xNJN

you, sir, are the reason why there is no creativity on the Wii.

So you want Nintendo to allow pirated copies of their games to be played on the Wii?

Why they have to warn people using something they do not approve of or license for use on their console?

Look at my post. Apple bricked iPhones. Hackers complained. Apple made iPhone SDK. Everyone is happy.

What Nintendo should do is allow the Wii SDK to be available so that people can make games themselves. This could give Nintendo a massive market push. Also, the games aren't pirated. They bought the games, then they used a freeloader. Pirating the game would mean that you got it online. n00b.

And taht same 'bug' that allows the freeloader to work is used in getting pirated games to work. So yeah, im the n00b.

What you basicly said though, is you want Nintendo to release a FREE SDK so ANYONE can make a Wii game, Which honestly I don't think would give them any market push, and would take plenty of money from them. Since a majority of a console makers profits come from software sales(1st,2nd, and 3rd party), a free SDK would kill that.

Don't be angry over the update to stop the freeloader...be angry that you needed it in the first place.

Hopefully Nintendo's gotten enough flames from EU gamers over this whole ordeal.

[QUOTE="Popadophalis"]I find this to be very frustrating and pointless. What is the problem with importing games Nintendo seriously?csliney

Simple answer? Nintendo are still price fixing in Europe, Wii games are constantly more expensive than 360 and even PS3 games over here. I tend to pay between £10 and usually a maximum of £20 for 360 games some of which are a matter of a few months old (with the exception of one game, mass effect because I got LE), where as Zelda TP is still £40 over here, WTF is that about? This is the reason I have not purchased a Wii game since the sublime Mario Galaxy, I am renting Wii games for the time being until they are priced fairly (going on last gen in the UK I may have a long wait, GC can still be found overpriced :|).

So don't buy them brand-new. Why anyone buys brand-new games from retail outlets in this day and age, I have no idea.http://www.cex.co.uk/products/Gaming/Console%20Gaming/Wii%20Software/index.php?sku=045496900014&name=Legend%20Of%20Zelda:%20Twilight%20Princess&mode=buy
