It seems every console cycle Sheep are tricked into buying their old IPs again, except with better graphics. For example i can honestly say I did not enjoy MP3 as much as the original. Also how many more Mario Parties do they have to have before people realize its BAD? And don't get me started on Mario. Shovelware anyone? Ninty, make some more ORIGINAL IPs because, minus CAPCOM, your third parties are letting you down.

aaaaaaand flame shield out.

I believe Gamespot just owned you...

"Mario 64, anyone? If you played that seminal game, Mario Galaxy's star hunt progression probably sounds familiar to you. But apart from that basic structuring, you can hardly call Mario Galaxy a Mario 64 rehash. If anything, Mario Galaxy simply takes the basics of what made Mario 64 such a dynamite game, and turns them completely crazy.

When all is said and done, the thing that really makes Super Mario Galaxy such a standout game isn't the fact that it's another Mario game, but the fact that it doesn't even need to be a Mario game to be successful. Sure, it's got all the nostalgic flavor Mario fans would want, with the updated soundtrack, familiar foes, and various other Mario-related bric-a-brac scattered throughout the adventure, but the game never leans on these nostalgic aspects as a crutch. It instead puts the whole of its focus on its gameplay design, and with good reason. You could probably swap in just about any other characters from practically any other franchise, and this would still be a phenomenally fun game."

Mario surrrrrrre is shovelware. 9.5 on gamespot, 97% average on gamerankings. Mario games sure are horrible, I hate Nintendo for "tricking" me into buying the Wii for games that I obviously don't want anymore!

i bet you own a ps3 don't you big man with facney graphics and constant rehashes like ratchet and clank i'm so scared of someone talking about a game that got a 9.5 because it's level desgin was so diffrent and intersting and the gameplay was fun in engaging .

Overall Wii has the least amount of quality games off all systems just like the GC last gen. But it may have an edge in exclusives. Only time will tell if it will still have that edge.

I have to, I just have to:

9.5.

/thread

:P

Okay, on topic: You might not like the new Zelda or Metroid game, but rest assured that someone else does. And Super Mario Galaxy may actually, decently change things up a bit. You get to go into space this time and collect stars. Again, :P.

Besides, isn't that what the 360 and PS3 are offering? Better graphics for their old IPs?

Ahh teh Halo, teh MGS, teh Final Fantasy, teh GTA, teh Tekken, teh Ridge Racer, teh Ratchet, teh every other sequel/trilogy/fourlogy/etc.

Nintendo's not the only one doing it. Sure we have Mario 3D 3!!! Metroid 3D 3!!! Smash Bros 3!!!! Mariokart 3D 3!!! we still get some new stuff from 3rd parties and nintendo. NMH, Z&W, Disaster, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, Starfox, and more still coming. They may not all be AAA but neither are all the gamse for 360 or PS3. Nintendo is no more at fault than the other consoles. Just because you hav 2 or 3 great new IPs, doesn't mean using an old IP is suddenly horrible.
