poor lemmings. they can't brag about their 6.0 exclusive game anymore. :(CaseyWegner
grrr....the game was amazing and a true tribute to classic JRPG gaming that will never be appreciated around this website because of little kids too young to know the satisfaction that comes from grinding your characters to invincibility...
The sad thing is..... it will probably be better. :cry:Private_Vegas
What is sad is that the 360 library is so strong that a post is made about one of the system's weakest games no longer being exclusive when it actually will still be exclusive because the gameplay is entirely different. So if a solid snake card game comes out on the DS, Metal Gear is no longer exclusive? Riiight. Seriously, it's Blue Dragon. Now when the 360 ripped Assassin's Creed, VF5, and GTA4 exclusivity from the PS3....those were big. When MS secured publishing rights to Gaiden 2..that was big. This is Blue Dragon. Really, you need better ammo.
RPGs are played for the story. The DS version of Blue Dragon has the same story as the Xbox 360 version. By playing the DS version, there is no need to play the Xbox 360 version.

So if the DS got permission to make a game using the same story and text as Mass Effect, but was all stick figures, you'd say the 360 lost another exclusive?

Wow, worst logic ever. If you just play it for the story why not just pull up the wikipedia page for the game and read the shortened story there?

It's funny how Microsoft asked Mistwalker to create a classic style RPG, and the American reviews ripped the game for being a classic style RPG.
But... but... you have to read!
But... but... you have to think!
But... but... there's no mindless violence or shooting. :D

You are wrong. You are wrong because what makes a game is more than the text and plot outline. Would RPG fans buy FF13 the book in any numbers? If it was turned into a play, would they attend? Story might be important to RPGs in a more significantway than, say, FPS', but these arestill games, with Graphics and gameplay and framerates and.... need I go on? IfMass Effect or the next FF comes out, and they have archaic graphics and broken gameplay, freezes and moronicbattle mechanics, andreceive scores around 5.3, would they still be awesome games because story is all that matters to RPGs? Would they still sell, even to diehard fans of the genre? Think, man.

1) Yes, RPG fans buy Final Fantasy books. Ever visit Japan?
2) Yes, Final Fantasy fans attend Final Fantasy plays. And Concerts. And Movies. And Watch the TV show... Ever visit Japan?
Ummm seriously how similar to an xbox 360 game do you think the DS version can be?:?cakeorrdeath
Besides the HD graphics, what about BD on 360 is not possible on DS?

3) The Xenosaga series sold great based on story alone.

If they can do Xenosaga on the DS, Blue Dragon will be easy.

There are alot of strange things in Japan, that doesn't make them mainstream or relevant to what I pointed out. A few hundred Japanese teenagers attending on off-Japanese broadway FF play doesn't make it mass-market relevant. If there are books, do they count as making things not exclusive? Do these plays? And would those who attend, if asked, not play the game because they've now seen the play? They are attending the plays and reading the books because they love the game I would think, not in order to avoid having to buy it. I notice you only addressed this, and not the heart of what I was talking about, ie the flaws in your logic.

How about a board game, made by Mattel, involving dice and and small figurines, but that also comes with a manuscript with the verbatim dialog from the game? Does that scenario also make Mass Effect non/exclusive? Exactly how far down this slope are you willing to go before you concede it is flawed and a little ridiculous?
