You're just trying to bash Halo. I think you're just jealous that a game so simple can turn out to be so great. Just goes to show what a strong group of people can do when they put their minds together and crank out a game in under 2 years for the launch of the console. A 6 month crunch as was said. Halo was Game of the Year for a reason. Immersion, sound, graphics, A.I., gameplay, and quality.
The only one I agree with is Half Life series. No matter how much better those games are, I just can't see them putting a great big smile on my face while playing. The halo series wasn't just about the shooting aspect..There was something about the story, characters, and environment that just made it so awesome.
Playing a halo gives me this epic feeling..As If I was playing the first Halo for the first time all over again. And I just can't wait to feel that epic feeling again when playing Halo 3.
Duke Nukem owns but i think its been surpassed alont time ago. and Halo beats it for now. COme on DUKE NUKEM FOREVER

Gears heck no. Halo 2 owns that game. because all gears has was graphics. the weaposn, gamepaly, online, depth, variety, campaing, story, etc was all better on Halo. No contest. Halo>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Gears
When was Resident Evil a shooter. its an action game. for a shooter game RE kind of sucks in that regard versus Halo. Halo has more to offer there. why because RE 4 isnt a pure shooter. Its an action game. specifically a survival horror.
Rainbow Six Vegas is good, but once again all it has on Halo so far is graphics. halo 2 owns it in all the same areas Halo 2 owned gears. well maybe minus the weapons.
And according to ratings, a huge fanbase, and a great amount of sales. No there really arent many shooters better than Halo. Half Life, Counterstrike, and Unreal for the most part can be argued over Halo. Atleast on PC. but 1 there is nothingon consoles thats up to par with Halo on shooters. and While some may hate to hear this. Not that many PC shooters do it either. Only the great PC shooters do. Soon Crysis will beat it to.
Counting only "pure FPSes"(so no tactical shooters and no RPG hybrids and no mods)
Better SP: Call of Duty 1-2, MOH: Pacific Assault, No One Lives Forever 1-2, Alien vs Predator 2, Tribes: Vengeance, Undying, Wheel of Time, FEAR, Half-life 1-2.
Better MP: Red Orchestra, CouterStrike, Day of Defeat: Source, CoD: Unnited offensive, Tribes 1-3, Quakeworld, Quake 3, UT99, Alien vs Predator 1-2.
But the strenght of Halo is that it's one of few games that both great SP and MP. The only games that beat it in both those areas would be: Alien vs Predator 2, Tribes: Vengeance and COD:UO
Ok u know what i may argue completely against other games like Deus Ex, Call of Duty, Freedom Fighters, QUake, for Halo. But those are arguable.
BUT WTF! Gears.
How is gears better. ALl it has on Halo is graphics. Campaign, Online, weapons balance, variety, depth, story, characters, overall scores around from critics, fanbase, etc HAlo owns gears.
I like gears. Its the only game i play on my 360 right now. But WTF Gears over Halo. BULLS***

All the shooters I listed I feel are better than Halo, as well as the Doom's (I, II, Final and Ultimate) and Half Life's. I have tried my hardest to like Halo, I just can't. I cannot get over the incredibly bland weapon, character, enemy, level and plot design.

I played alot of those games. Ive heard alot of good things about Dues Ex. but for the most part yes i didnt play it. But riddick i did, Quake, Thief, and most of that list with the exception of Dues ex and day of defeat. and id take Halo over them. Halo holds its own quite nicely. I never said a PC shooter doesnt own Halo. FPS and PC are a match made in heaven. but for a Console shooter Halo is the best, and for a Console shooter Halo holds its own quite nicely againt the top FPS. wether u go by critics scores, fanbase, sales, etc. halo is one of the best and not the average game every halo hater has made it out to be.

IF we did a list of opinions. Im pretty sure there be a good amount of people who dont like counterstrike. or even Half Life(well i doubt that one). I mean we have people who Like Gears More. And personally i think those people need there head examined but thats just an opinion. not a fact like the TC is making this whole list out to be.

Not everyone is "bashing" the game. I myself have always expressed my distaste for the game. Those of us who are expressing our reasons for our dislike of the game are not "jealous," we just don't have the same taste in games as others.
Perfect Dark... man, I loved that game. I still remember playing that game all the time... I still play it sometimes. Also, Resident evil 4. Halo is overrated but it is one of the best shooters I have ever played.
I've had just as much fun with Halo/Halo 2 as I've had with some of those great FPS too, albeit some of those aren't even the right damn genre for crying out loud :|

BTW....it should be well known by now...that sales have barely anything to do with how good the game.

It doesn't matter to plug one he's made it pretty obvious, if you want shooters theres gradius, metal slug, gradius, darius ETC. Those are shooters.

Because people keep bringing it up, so I respond. And why must lemmings always praise it as the second coming of Christ? I myself never said any of the games were "bad."
Does this need to be stated 9 billion times? Yes there are better shooters than Halo. Does that make it sell any less or have any lessfans of Halo? No, let it go. Halo isn't my favorite shooter either but it gets hated on alot more than it should.
I really don't understand the targeted hate at Halo...so it wasn't revolutionary, it is still a great series PERIOD! Who cares what's better, if the games listed were sooo much better we would be talking about them everyday and not Halo...riiiight:shock:
