one thing i am cercerned about in borderlands is the fact that everyone playing the game will be a different level. I am going to be forming parties to do quests and will probley always get someone who is a high level come in and whipe everything clean and take all the challenge away from the game. Do you think they will do anything about this, or we will just have to get lucky

Good God no, that mechanic almost single-handedly killed Oblivion.

but what are we going to do when your lvl 20 doing a quest and someone lvl 80 come in and kills everything and all the fun is taken out because you dont play any role in it

Do it again in another area? MMO players have been dealing with that crap for over a decade. Level -scaling effectively removes any incentive to level up and/or get better gear, which is practically the entire point of games like this.

I don't think Borderlands can really be compared to the type of rpg that Oblivion and Fallout 3 so level scaling might just be necessary.

A big fat No. I think it will be just fine, sorta like PSO if you ever played that game.

No, no no no! Absolutely not. It is just bad design. Like invisble walls and respawning enemies.

Not needed, there will probably be level restrictions you can put in your room so you don't have to worry about it.

Not with the drop-in and out co-op. That would sucks.

It should be more traditional, the farther you go, the harder the enemies.

Level scaling is Satan. What's the point of leveling up and becoming a badass when you can't express your badassery upon some puny enemies? And no there won't be any scaling.

I suspect that levelling is meant for evolving your character the way you want and strentgh vs mobs will mostly be determined by weapons and gear.

In that case I'm fine with level scaling.

I hate level scaling, you never get the sense you're becoming powerful. I love it when I can go back to an enermy that owned me in the beginning and kick his backside. Its half the fun.

my first time playing that, i got so overpowered with knights of the round and crazy double magic spamming something something. the end boss died in like 1 round or less than a round? i'm pretty sure KotR went off as the very first action when I entered that battle. haha
