Should GTA V come out on next-gen systems?

Why do you want them to gimp the game to make it fit on the next gen systems? They've done all this work for this gen, why do you want them to have to delay it more to release it on the PS4? clyde46

So enhancing a game means "gimping it" ? ;)

The next-gen version wouldn't necessarily have to impact the current-gen version release as it could launch after it. (in b4: "noone would wait for the next-gen version")

Also, as a reminder - 360 also got some games that were released on both generations of hardware. (e.g. King Kong, Gun, NFS: Most Wanted, NBA Live! 05, ect.)

They should release it on both for more sales. Make it have better graphics on the next-gen consoles to boost their sales.

I would say yes, but there just won't be a big enough market for them to justify such a high budget title on.

I wouldn't bother with a port either. Maybe if they can port the PC version to the next gen consoles.

I think Rockstar are doing a pretty great job at pushing the current-gen systems to the limits, but still I think the game calls for new hardware to trully shine.

The way I see it, they could release two versions of the game - one of the current-gen systems and the other for the next-gen ones.

Of course the next-gen version should have enhanced graphics, faster loading times, longer draw-distance, ect.

I think it will take quite a while before the "true" next-gen GTA gets made and a version for the next-gen systems would also help push the initial sales of those systems.

So what say you, SW - would GTA V releasing on next-gen systems impact your decision at getting a next-gen system?

Oh, and that next-gen version should also get ported to the PC and there should be an option for a first-person view for the game. ;)

Rockstar are perfectionists so it takes time before they make their games.

In my eyes, no GTA V on next-gen system will also impact the sales of those systems in a negative fashion.

Nope, it will be good to have this one on consoles as a sort of send off, then focus on GTA VI for next gen. R* aren't in the business of bringing older games into another gen or making them look better on newer consoles. 

IF it means fewer pop-ins, higher FPS, better textures/lighting /shadow /particles effects.....

Maybe the framerate would be more fluid and consistent too.

I've played GTA IV on PC a lot and 30 fps is totally fine for it. Draw distance improvements and all that would be nice to have though. But if all that stuff matters so much to you then there is an obvious answer that I won't say for fear of being branded

Not sure what you're getting at as I played the GTA games on PC too...

I would like to to also come out on next gen systems. I personally would be happy with a PS4 release that was full 1080p with some AA applied. That honestly would make me happy enough. I'll hold off getting it on the PS3 for a bit just to see if they might do this.

That's part of the contradiction too. They claim PS3 is better than 360 or vice versa due to some small differences then PC comes along but "lol no one cares about visuals only hermits" and then this and it's back to the start.

I've pointed it out many times too and they just blow it off. Pretty funny stuff, or sad, whichever way you look at it
