Rockstar never released a GTA so close to a console launch before. It would be a good idea for Rockstar to release it 6 months later alongside the pc version. It would be an easy port of the pc version for PS 4 and Durango. They could easily sell enough to cover the porting costs. Many consolites would buy the game a 2nd time to play in 1080p with better draw distance and textures. Also remember the expansions. Surely they dont want to leave the next gen out of the loop and it would be odd to have expansions and not the main game on a specific console.

GTA 3?

I meant as a last gen game. Totally different situation in 2001.

they'll release it on current gen systems to make the most money off of it because of a larger install base, I hope they release a next gen version later on though

Rockstar North should have no part in that abomination....actually that sounds below any of the Rockstar divisions.

No. It was developed for current gen consoles. They've been developing it for these consoles for a while, so next gen wasn't on the table when they started. And to make the most of the next gen tech they'd basically have to redo a lot of the development, and that's really the only reason to develop on next gen. It certainly wouldn't sell better on next gen system as they wouldn't have the same install base. Rockstar wouldn't really benefit from it.

No it isn't. Crysis 3 is not a generational difference from Halo 4. MGS V is the first game that looks "next gen" and it isn't coming to pc. Try again

I think it should. I will have all my next gen launch titles and find it hard to go back and buy a current gen game. I still probably will though.

No. If you want the technically better version, wait for the PC release.

If it is on nextgen it will be downloadable like 3,VC & SA on PSN today.

Well, if they do a PC version it would be really easy to port it over to next gen consoles.

I don't see why they wouldn't do that.

Yes it should and I'm certain GTAV will come to next gen and PC. The only question you have got to decide is shall I buy now and play it straight away in reduced quality because I'm so hyped by it all, or wait 6 months to play it in superb quality. For me, first impressions count and I only want to play the game once, so I will wait and play the HD PS4 version with zero screen tear, ultra smooth frame rate, high res textures, smooth shadows, zero pop-in, huge draw distances, complex NPC AI routines and amazing physics. More of everything basically because the PS4 can. I want the version I play to be like those screenshots they keep showing us. Those screenshots are current gen, true, but they are taken from the development PC master (current gen PC). A deception, but not a lie. The PS4 version will be very close to those awesome PC screenshots with that high quality smooth boketh blur. You are going to be disappointed though if you think the PS3 version will look anything like the quality we are seeing in those amazing screenshots with that super smooth boketh blur and beautifully ani-aliased edges. Once we get the PS4 with a HD version of GTAV, we will clearly see the different in motion and wonder why we naively even asked the question.

Nah. GTAV is prone in becoming the current generation's final act; the last trick up its sleeve. You can't ask for a more promising game to close it out.
