I would wait for some revision of 3DS (3DSi or whatever), because I expect battery life getting better.
RDR and GTA are on PS3 :? TC can't play them :P[QUOTE="BigBoss255"]PS3. Don't worry about missing out on RDR and GTA, they're average.EggHeadMan
Hello System Wars!
My birthday is coming up in a few months, and I'd like to ask for either a PS3 or a 3DS. There are few pros and cons for each, so I can't really decide. The PS3 has a Blu-Ray player, so I could sell my DVD player for room, plus some extra cash. Also, some of my friends have PS3s, so if I could get PSN, I could play online. However, there's not a huge amount of games I like that I'm allowed to play (i.e. Grand theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, etc.).
The 3DS has plenty of games that look interesting to me (I'm mainly a Ninty gamer), but the price point is steep for a handheld and the battery life is really turning me off.
Which should I ask for?

just get a high end pc... you will get the by far superior experiance...
I would recommend PS3 since it has a great selection of games to get, exclusives and multiplats, that you would be missing out on with just a 3DS. Also you would be able to play online with your friends on PSN for free so that's another definate plus.
And not all games on PS3 are rated M, like Little Big Planet is a GREAT game with lot's of creation stuff and that's rated E, and the Uncharted games are rated T and while they have violence, it's not over the top with gore or anything. It's more PG-13 type violence.
Playstation 3 has plenty of great games.
Portal 2, Batman: Arkaham Asylum, BFBC2, Crysis 2, Call of Duty 4, Uncharted 2, Infamous, and Demon's Souls are all rated Teen (15+). Also Uncharted 3 is coming out in November, i'm really looking forward to it.
Hope i convinced you.
3ds not only does it play all the current ds games it has a virtual console , which has cheap games for people who are on a tight budget , its pretty versitile, a ps3 well with a wii u around the corner, you might as well just wait for sony to finally drop the darn price to an affordable price like 250 lol
[QUOTE="russiaAK47"]Not strict. Just ignorant.is this thread for real? ps3 all the way, and gta and red dead arent even that adult. your parents are kinda strict.

I don't think they're ignorant, the TC's parents are just following the ESRB which says rated M, they have a choice whether to let they kid play it and I guess they don't want their kid to play it. I agree GTA and RDR aren't even adult, but it's was their decision so.......
I had the same dilemma and I went with 3DS
but it seems the unanimous decision is PS3 :P and if you want a 3DS then definitleywait until it gets better games.
yes but you need a special card that no one seems to have3ds not only does it play all the current ds games it has a virtual console , which has cheap games for people who are on a tight budget , its pretty versitile, a ps3 well with a wii u around the corner, you might as well just wait for sony to finally drop the darn price to an affordable price like 250 lol

I'd recommend the PS3. Bought one last month and really enjoy it. The 3DS hasn't hit its stride yet, which is understandable because its so early in its lifecycle. There really is no comparison here if you want the system with the best games.
But if you really desire portability, I say wait for the Vita, or buy the 3DS lite whenver that comes out.
I can't even believe that this is a serious question. If you're looking for any type of quality than I should slap you for such a silly question. PS3. I would never, EVER, chose a handheld over a console... with handhelds here is what you're getting game wise. Let's say, hypothetically, you're getting a PSP and you want a sports game, now, in said sports game the console version is going to have all the features, while the handheld (in this case, the PSP) has a ran down list of features, excluding out all the fun ones... There is less power in these things to run all of the features, why get something that is "dumbed" down? Especially if you have a choice?

They're not adult... That's A... GTA and RDR are M (Mature).. Big difference. And..... how do they not fit with the rating? Bad language, use of drugs/alcohol, law breaking, killing people. That's mature stuff, nothing for children to be playing and warping their demented souls any further. Please Log In to post.
