Right now I am trying to decide on eather getting a wii or a xbox 360. And no I am not getting both since I am allready a PC gamer and 3 gaming systems (and for that matter, 2 systems) would be hard to keep up with.

Give me a list of games for both consoles to help me decide please. I am one of those gamers that like mostly any type of games btw. And as a backround info of me, I've had a GC, N64, and SNES before.

360, I like the wii but it really dosen't have any games for it, plus I think it's gonna fizzle out next year anyways, when ps3 and 360 get all the other games people really want to play

Are you interested in most/all of the 360 exclusives? If not, the Wii is probably your better bet.

Take a look at the games lists and ask yourself which one you see yourself enjoying more.

I am a big fan of SSBM and would like to play SSBB along with galaxy, MP3 and basically all the nintendo exclusives.

But then again...

I want to play Mass effect, Halo 3, GoW 1/2, GTA4, Too human, etc, Tom Clancy games and this is not even counting all the ones coming to both PC and xbox 360: Assasin's creed, Bioshock, COD4, Fifa 08 (big soccer fan), Huxley, Devil Maycry 4, HL2-ep.2.

That's the thing about the wii, I would buy it just for  all the awesome nintnedo games and miss out on all the good 3rd party games. But I don't know, I could just get half the games I want for the 360 which are also coming to PC with a just a graphics card upgrade. It's a very hard choice.

wii60 ftw.  I'm guessing if you buy one of them now, you should be able to get the other a year from now after a price drop.

Also, some of the 360 version of PC/360 games are better.  And I prefer playing on the PC with keyboard+mouse.  I feel games like GRAW and Rainbow six Vegas are better on 360 mostly because of the bigger online community and optimized game engines.  However, I feel the PC version of oblivion is better.

If you enjoyed the previous Nintendo consoles, then go for the Wii. Zelda and Paper Mario won't disappoint, and there are some huge Nintendo titles coming later this year with Super Mario Galaxy, Pokemon Battle Revolution, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Battaltion Wars, ect.

Xbox 360. This thing is just awesome. I just got a HDTV and it just enhances your gameplay experience. Not to mention the 360 has the right type of games that fit young males preferences.

I say my friend please dont waste your cash on a Wii. Get a 360 and you will be delivered real games instead of minigames and last gen ports.

seriously, pcwii is a great mix.  The 360 is basically a cheaper, more inferior pc.  But, you'll miss out on some exlusives like Too Human and Banjo Theesie (my fav upcoming 360 exclusives), and you'll also have to wait for timed exlusives like GTA4, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon (?), and Halo3.

My fav upcoming wii games this year: M-09 (HAMMER), manhunt2, the big three, NiGHTs2

360 will give you more bang for your buck, however, since you all ready have a PC, I'd say get the Wii if you really don't want to miss out on Nintendo's games. Otherwise, the choice is pretty obvious.

I wish there was a website that covered all the consoles of interest, along with reviews of their systems and games to help you make your decision. I can't think of any though.

If you're a PC gamer, you probably won't need a 360, but just do the research and make sure the system has the games you like. Nobody here can tell you what you like.

Depends on your gaming tastes, if you can buy both, then which one do you want more at this moment in time.

There's a reliable mathetmatical formula for answering this question.

x = ( y - z )

where

y = the current year

z = the year of your birth

if

x is less than 12 you get a Wii

x is greater than 12 you get a 360

I have both... IF you have a standard def tv... go get yourself a wii, you wont notice a difference, but the wii is seriously insulting to HDTVs. I use it mostly for internet, pictures and VC games. Both would be a good choice.

Go PCWii like me and I can guarantee that you won't miss out on the 360 games because most of them will come to the PC (Halo 2, Lost Planet, Assassin's Creed etc.) Super Smash Bros Brawl is also a very promising title, I can't imagine how much fun I will have with it online.

PS: Don't forget, 1/3 Xbox 360 breaks down and you have to get it repaired. My friend has already sent in his 360 the second time now, it can be very bothering if you are an impatient person.

If you're a PC gamer, then you're probably used to online play and shooters.  If you want to stick with what you're used to, go with the 360.  Otherwise, get a Wii.

Wait a minute.  For me, x = 1980.  Are you telling me that you have to be 1,996 years old to buy the Wii in your equation?

haha does this say something about the intellectual abilities of people who make statements like "wii is for 12 year olds"??  I think so!

You might want to think about retaking Algebra ramey70 ;)

I must add that I have two Widescreen LCD monitors. One is a 19" and one a 20" both pretty good and I imagine they can do 1080p or 720p with VGA cables.

And I guess, yes , I will buy one system now and one later, but which one now?  And if you really think about it, it is true that it in the end I will only be missing out on the first party games for the most part.

Right now I am enclined to buy a wii first.

Even as a PC gamer, the 360 offers a hell of a lot more (games, interface, features etc).

Gah, I really want a 360, but I keep telling myself: "nah, nah, I cant.... Missing out on MP3, galaxy, and SSBB all coming this year (or at least 2), and giving up many new experiences with the wiimote." i'de be missing out on both but the greatest loss would be if I didn't get a wii, since 1/3 the games coming to xbox 360 that I like will come to PC.

I still don't know tho....

This is very important!  Do either of those monitors have component video input?  How well do they handle 480p game sources?

If Xbox/GCN/PS2 480p content looks tatty on your LCD Wii is not going to look good either.

Right now I am trying to decide on eather getting a wii or a xbox 360. And no I am not getting both since I am allready a PC gamer and 3 gaming systems (and for that matter, 2 systems) would be hard to keep up with.

swordtossZ

Should I buy a Wii or a Xbox 360?

Well I'm not you, so I don't know what games you would like, but you did ask me to make the decision for you... so:

You will buy the 360.  Afterwards, you will buy Bomberman: Act Zero.  You will play 500 hours of it.  You will then wonder out into traffic.

Good day sir.Â
