If you have a good PS1 library that you enjoy playing, I strongly suggest the PSP. Every PS1 game playable + upcoming games such as Crisis Core and God of War is pretty hard to pass up.
right now the DS
I would at least wait until the new PSP comes out later this year before I got one.
HarlockJC
Im pretty sure it comes out in like 2-3 weeks so thats not too long of a wait

You can find Brave Story, Legend of Heroes, Blade Dancer, Daxter, and Jean D'Arc on the PS2? Yeah I didn't think so, go somewhere else.

I would rather play those games than the ones on the DS. They have N64 ports,

Sweet. Bulletmath repeating the party line. How could you have a PSP VS. DS thread without that?
agentfred

So the psps's biggest appeal is illegal?
Probably by an accident, never played that game.
qewrewq
So you went to the prince of persia revelations page, a game that is on a flop handheld that you constantly defend. And gave it a 10
by accident?
anything's possible i suppose

That's exactly what happened. And out of your 1123 posts, there are probably 900 where you said "flop handheld"...

Yep and those 900 are probably about the POSP which is a flop handheld
I personally own the DS and i think its the best handhelds ystem around. THe reason why the PSP isnt a good handheld is because the people at sony designed it as a mediocre console rather than a handheld. For example, when you are playing with a handheld, where are you usually? the train? away from home? typically in times like this you dont have hours to dedicate to playing a game (which most PSP games require you to do). The DS has addopted easy to get into games that can be played in short intervals as well as long ones if you want. Pheonix wright and even the caslevania series are examples. The trade off is that you are usually not fully engrossed into the games as you were on a PSP however, if you were not at home i dont think youd have enough time to experience this anyways.
Now, say you were at home, would you play your PSP? many people today own consoles so whats the point in playing a scaled down, mediocre console when you have a full sized one at home? The DS offers games that provides unique handheld systems (as it was designed to do) that most consoles do not offer.
If you a commuter and think the other features on the PSP would be a cool thing to have, you are wrong! SYstems that try to cram many features together usually are less than steller. The Ipod has 30 gigs and can view movies while the PSP has only 2 gigs and putting vids onto the thing can take hours (not to mention those UMD disks...NO one buys them).
To summerize, if you do not own a console and do not go out a lot, get a PSP, but if you are away from home and dont have any other form of entertainment, get the DS. And finally,if you think the PSP will provide you with audio and visual satisfaction, think twice and go get an Xbox360 or PS3, in the long run they'll meet your needs. But i know for a fact that the PSP wont.
