You want to play console games on a handheld? Go to VITA

You want to play handheld games on a handheld? Go to 3DS.

tjricardo089

Not really. The PS Vita has "handheld" games such as Little Deviants, Lumines. Games that could be both like Hot Shost Golf and Wipeout. People keep mentioning the same 3 games over and over again Mario, Maio Kart and RE Revelations because the majority of 3DS games worth playing besides those are ports.

Also Mario Kart and Mario started on consoles. RE Revelations could be considered a console like experience on the 3DS.

Coolyfett will get the Vita, it is just a better investment overall, plus all PSP software that Coolyfett owns will also operate on the Vita. All Coolyfett has to do is transfer all PSP software over to the Vita. Coolyfett has about 6 titles on the PSP that he has not completed, plus it will be nice to finally get in on this trophy system that the PS3 gamers seem to really enjoy. It makes more sense to just upgrade if you are on a budget. If one has money to blow, Coolyfett says get both and sell your older systems.

Get 3DS for the games of course, the game library is like infinitly better than Vita one

It is all about the games

peterw007

Agreed. You wouldn't go wrong with the 3DS just for Super Mario 3D Land + Mario Kart 7 + Backwards Compatibility with all DS Games.

The problem with the Vita is that it doesn't play UMD's. It's not like you can just pop in your old PSP games and expect them to work.

Sony has Mod Nation & Little Big Planet to answer those titles. Many people love Little Big Planet.

Wow, are you sure about this? It doesn't make any sense that Sony doesn't make the Vita backwards compatible. I was positive it had BC. This is HUGE if true!

youre gonna have to download the games you own on the psp onto the vita for a fee..lol

Only umd games not people that already bought them in dd which has been around for years

3DS will ( should ) be getting a new model sometime next year. I would get the Vita for now and hold out for the new 3DS design (Extra circle pad among other things).

Buy whatever platform has games that are more fitting to your personal tastes. Do your own reseach. it's not hard.

I am a person who was skeptical about the 3DS but after buying I have to say that it is a great machine, and as people have said over and over again, Ninty know how to differentiate their handheld games and console games, so you get a different experience from the two, something which I fear will happen again for the Vita as it did with the PSP. godfather_1

Because, as we all know, there's just a world of difference between MK, 2D Mario, Fire Emblem, Paper Mario, and Animal Crossing on Ninty's handhelds and home consoles. >_>

But I will agree that there have been differences made between the Zelda games last gen. That's not a good thing at all, though. Because the DS games were really tiresome and boring.

OT: Buy both.

It will not have an extra circle pad, mark my words. You would totally screw the customers who already bought the original 3DS. 99% of games don't even need 2 circle pads. Vita needs 2 sticks, 3DS don't. The only redesign you will see is a larger screen and better battery. 3DS XL.

Yeah, the Vita version has no online mode, Sony confirmed it. Regardless, buy a Vita anyway. I say buy a 3DS now, buy a Vita in October/November, when it will presumably have had a price drop and/or a bundle, and more games to shell out for.

Agreed. 3DS has a great library right now. Vita has a nice launch library and more games are a coming.
