Should I get a PS3 or 360?

It all depends... How much do you like Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, and God of War? If none of those franchises interest you, then 360 might be your best bet.

I'd still go with a PS3, though. This is, of course, assuming that Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Haze, White Knight Chronicles, Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII Versus, iNFAMOUS, and Little Big Planet kick ass. I'd wait and see, though. If these games aren't what people are making them out to be, then 360, I guess.

-Marketplace has more content than PS Store

You do realize that a vast majority of gaming system sales come in Oct-Dec, and its not unusual to have very weak sales in Jan, since it is right after the holidays, and so far, all we have is January's numbers?

1 month (and traditionally one of the weakest months) does not a year make.

In other words, put away the crystal ball and focus on what should matter. I will give you a hint, it should not be system sales.

thats true but Sony have the advantage this year cause of alot of first party games GT 5 GTA IV is on both system but 60% of amazon Pre orders for this game is PS3 in april there alot PS2 owners gonna make the switch to PS3 for GTA IV and GT 5 Haze in May Metal gear Solid in June Resistance 2 in the Fall PS3 will sale 12 million this year easy

But you are completely discounting the fact that GTA IV is multiplat, and the entire 360 '08 lineup in your post.

Well, if you're looking for features, then your best bet is to go with the PS3. It has free online, a web browser, (if you have an HDMI cord and a t.v. that goes to 1080p) it improves your dvd's quality up to 1080p, has great connectivity with a PSP (again if you have that), runs cooler and much more quiet than the XBOX 360, plays Blurays (which you get 5 for free when you buy one new), the controllers are cheaper if you do a lot of LAN parties or break them a lot, there is no power brick that you have to worry about carring around since it's built into the PS3, if you get the 80G version then you get backwards compatability, you can help save lives with Folding at Home, speaking of Home it's coming out soon and will be an great feature and last but not least you don't need to worry about getting bad hardware.arto1223

What makes you think MS is going to bring out a new xbox in 3yrs. They already said it the 360 would last 5+ years and its finally making a profit(unlike the xbox).

Ok on toipic, the 360 is the far better chioice. I had a PS3, but i sold it as i was tured of waiting and it had a mediocre library that time. Though the PS3 has improvd, its still is promising a bright future and we don't know how bright the future is going to be. Sony promised 2007 would be best fot he PS3 but it was a disaster. The 360 has by far the best games and online(PSN is a joke compared to XBL, even if its free). Also multiplats look better and play better on the 360. The only thing the PS3 has going for it now is future promise, nothing else. So put your money in the 360 and you will get the best gaming experince and with the PS3 you will have nly the promise of one. Also the 360 has reliability issues, but MS fixes it for free, and thats the only fault i could find in the 360.

Get which ever system has the games you want to play the most. It's that simple. Trying to ask for opinions on this site, ESPECIALLY on system wars is the wrong way to go.Lionheart08

Typical Sony fanboy response. Xbox 360 for a huge library of quality games. PS3 is for potential. Getting tired of a waiting game. Sony equates their PS3 as a super computer. They want a multimedia machine not just a gaming machine.

Your on the forum enough, do we really have to detail it all out again and again. I guess so.

Better technology- Blu-ray included, wifi included, HDMI 1.3 included, direct feed optical drive, touchless buttons, internal power, bluetooth, Cell processor, support for industry standard accessories like keyboard and mouse, industry standard upgradable harddrive. Graphically the best games are on PS3 including Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune and Unreal Tournament 3 all superior to anything on X360 currently.

Does more- PSP remote play, ability to install your own OS, ability to keep your own files on the system itself, internet browser, Blu-ray movies, SACD support, etc..

Costs less- Microsoft charges for everything extra and I mean everything. And it's not cheap... $50 every year online charge with X360 (you'd think they would give the console out for free with subscription), Recharge kit for controller $15 not needed on PS3, $15 for additional gamertags on X360 free on PS3, $100 wifi adapter, 120gb X360 proprietary Harddrive upgrade $180 my PS3 has a 500gb Esata drive connected to it cost me $109 a year ago, Xbox games on Live $15 Playstation games on PSN typically $5-6, those are just some of the ways Microsoft charges a lot more to X360 owners

Reliability- Do I really even need to comment?? X360 is a piece of crap. MS has stated themselves all X360s have the RROD defect because it's a design issue. It's not a component problem that will ever easily be fixed. Many people I know on these forums are on their second, third, even fourth X360.

in my opinion: buy the 360,

so far the 360 has a great selection of shooters, racing, adventure, strategy fighting and Wrpg games

and its not too shaby in the Jrpg and retro department either

its biggest weakness is the platformer

its also cheaper than then a PS3

and if you live in Europe the games are also cheaper

xbox live is considered better than then PSN in pretty much all the media

As a gamer, i would pick 360, noise can be fought, or it is easier to overcome a noisy machine, than a machine with no games, or in a simpler way, it is easier to stop sound, than make new games yourself
