Should I get a PS3, when my focus is on Wii right now?

I love Sony and Playstation, I have a PS1 and PS2. i dont wanna miss out on any of the games. Im not being funny, but I dont want a 360 because of the failure rates. But back to my question, I really want to focus on getting my Wii collection up first, with Brawl coming and Mario kart Wii hitting too this year, I fear I have no time for PS3. But then on the other side of things MGS4, GTA4, Street fighter 4(which may not come out on Wii) and some other PS3 games I wanted to play. I also feel that PS3 might pull ahead and be number one. So should get PS3? If im still also working on my Wii collection?

Well if there are lots of titles that appeal to you then pick up the cheap version (relative). For me it is my least used system as console multi's always get bought for the 360 (clever MS and their achievements) and I spend most of my time on PC.

There will be good things for the PS3 i'm sure but it is my movie player and photo viewer as of now.

well basically on PS3 uve got heavenly sword, R&C and uncharted as the big PS3 exclusives out at the mo. so if those are really interesting u then a PS3 might be worth a look. im assuming u dont play games on PC so if thats the case then theres also loads of other great multiplat games that arent on wii like COD4, Oblivion and so on.

however if ure having probs keeping up with the wii and are happy with it then i wouldnt worry about getting a PS3 at the mo. when u do decide to get it, itll still be there (and possibly cheaper) and those games will still be waiting. so no pressure.

Stop worring about who will be number one and just game for fun. But let me tell you what I noticed, you named TWO games you wanted for the Wii and you named THREE games you wanted for the PS3. That might be something you need to think about.

I have a PS3 and Wii and I am happy with both but of course my PS3 gets alot more play, not only does it have addictive online games like COD4 but solid story cinematic games like Uncharted, Rachet, and DMC4. Then I use it to watch HD movies too, the poor guy doesnt get a rest.

Also SMG is Not the 2nd best game ever made.. Scores don't say that. All scores say is it's the best game ever made on Wii. On X360 or PS3 SMG would score 7 maybe 8 tops. It lack of graphics, it's lack of online, it's lack of community features, etc. those are all considered standard on PS3 and X360. Lacking those features would kill it, but it is a great Wii game.

I didn't buy my system for one game. Anyway, lower rated games on PS3 have better graphics, better gameplay, better online, offer DLC, have more replayability and better sound, than high rated Wii games. Wii games should really be compared to PS2 games. Wii games are great for the Wii, but they are outclassed by the true nextgen machines X360 and PS3.

The PS3 and Wii came out the same time so you and billions of others made it clear which one you would choose and that's the Wii. The Wii a console that really focuses on games and how to play them, while the PS3 seems unfocus with gaming and tries to do everything but.

I'd wait on the PS3 mostly due to price and features (such has 20GB, 60GB, 80GB hard drive). PS3 is only going to get cheaper, and maybe even more so since Blu-Ray is winning the format war. Plus, Sony is more inspired to move consoles, so good deals are more likely in its future.

The Wii is not getting cheaper any time soon, and the best Nintendo games hardly ever go cheap.

So I would get a Wii first (especially this weekend since its in both the TRU ad and Target ad), and get the PS3 when the price comes down. IMO.

If the gameplay is so superior then how come they are scored so low?
