the RROD around here seems like it was being blow out of proportion. I heard that the newer models reduce the the failure rate even further. I got the falcon chipset, and i've been with the 360 for about 1 year now and it is still doing fine. Just make sure you have good air ventilation. however, if ur one of the unlucky guy that get RROD then you still have the warranty to back it up.

If I wanted the one system with the best exclusive games I would stick with the PC - by far the greatest lineup, and many of the 360 "exclusives" are also on the PC.

If you get a 360 that is going to brick, chances are very good it is going to do it within the warrenty period. Now if going without a console for a week or two is a big concern, then yes, that is something to consider.

Newer 360 models have a very small chance of RROD, and even if it did happen you could get it repaired for free. Ive had my current 360 for about 3 years now. If you likegood games then the 360 is an excellent choice.

Dude if it scares you don't buy it. At this point what can anyone say to make you feel better? It get's fixed for free if it does, and you already know the story with this problem. What do you really want to know? Is the failure rate really 54%? Only if you answer GI polls that only take 5000 readers who don't have to provide proof of truth of ownership, or failure. I know this has been a problem for MS but I know 2 gamers out of 11 that have gotten RROD. I guess the good units went to NYC.

Its got a three year warranty. By the time three years is up you could probably buy a new one for just over a hundred bucks at this rate anyhow.

Yeah go ahead. Newer models of the 360 have less chance of getting RROD. Even if it does get it, you'll have a 3 year warranty to cover it.
