Should I get PS3 or Xbox 360?

Should I get PS3 or Xbox 360? I don't know what I should get cause I like Halo but I don't want the RROD I like Tekken (I know it wiil be on the X360 also, but it's better on a Playstation) but, I heard that PS3 is a failing product so WHAT SHOULD I GET?tekken220

360 is a great console but ps3 has better graphics, better cpu, free online, better games (in my opinion) and he has a blue-ray player, too

so i prefer ps3

How do oyu know Tekken is "better on Playstation"? Have you played it already? That's so stupid to say and don't give me that dpad bull****. Anyone who plays a fighting game seriously knows an analog stick is key. HELLO why do you think the arcade machines don't have a dpad??

Well. The age old topic comes back.

Lets see. Here's some questions I asked myself before making my decision (well, I actually got all 3 consoles at the same time, but still, back when I didn't have the money, here's how I decided):

1. Looking at exclusives alone, which appeals to you more.

2. If you're going to have friends over who don't know much about gaming, which console do you think they will like the look of?

3. Consider the room its going into. If its gonna be a more family type room, I'd say you get the PS3, its a little more sturdy. If its a room which only you use, I'd also reccomend the PS3. Its just got the sexy outside.

4. Consider the color coordination of the room. Will a PS3 or Xbox360 fit in better?

5. Are you planning to play online? Remember its $50 per year to have Xbox Gold, but Xbox Live Silver is free, but has much less features. The PSN is harder to get a game going, as theres minimal communication. But XBL ticks me off, I almost always find someone who thinks cussing my ear off is cool. Both onlines right now, aren't at their greatest, but still an enjoyable experience.

6. Are you planning to use a wireless connection? Xbox's official wireless adaptor is about $100. Otherwise you have to use ethernet.

7. Are you planning to play PS2 and PS1 games as well? Well sad news is, the newer PS3s don't play PS2 games.

Thats really all I looked at. Theres more people could ask you, and I prefer the PS3 as my console. Its just got the controller that I'm used to and have come to love. But other than that, the multiplats have minimal difference, and you would really only notice if you really went searching for the differences.

I really don't understand these threads. Why don't people just buy what interests them more? That should be a decision that only you can make.heretrix

Sometimes I think that gamespot employees use these threads to try to see the percentage of fanboys there are here, so they change their news and stuff just to mix up system wars. :|

No they don't. GranTurismo's a ******* DEMO! It's not even a real game. Actually it's more like half a game. Motorstorm...? Are oyu series? The first one was terrible. Uncharted was ok nothing special, Warhawk same thing and who actually still plays Wipeout? Yea that's a game people will be talking about for years...oh wait no one's even talking about it now.

Perhaps it IS the best RPG on PS3 but is that really saying much? A top tier game is one that prompts hype, and spiked interest in the gaming community. Games like MGS4, Killzone 2, Gears of War, Halo and so forth. Barely a whisper has surfaced over this game, so not many people are interested. There's no marketing, buzz or hype to garner interest.

Resistance 2 is better than Gears 2 overall. Make it 3 Exclusives

Get a 360 and download and watch the XNA fire place on Christmas.

I have all 3 systems and to be honest I think PS3 is the most bang for your buck. The system is wi-fi, blu ray enabled, free online, controller does not require any batteries. I also think going into 2009 the PS3 has the most exciting lineup and some of the best current games on the market. I do say if you get a PS3 you must no matter what play Uncharted though one of my favorite games this gen.Gaming_Guru_Guy

1. Decide what games you like/want on each system

2. Decide which secondary functions appeal to you

3. Decide if the extra cost/cost savings is worth the extra/fewer features.

4. Decide which controller you like better

The 360 has higher rated games and more of them and the multiplats are either better or equal plus it gets a lot of PC titles the PS3 doesn't, while the PS3 has a built in bluray player and more exclusives than the 360 but fewer multiplats.
