Should Nintendo have just released the tablet as a Wii add on?

It just seems pointless of them to release another underpowered console thats gonna be outdated as soon as 720 and PS4 come out. They still don't have much 3rd party support. They don't need new hardware for 2d Mario and Wii Fit.

Waffles are usually too dry without syrup but that is not the case with pancakes. Pancakes win.
