Think about it, when the PSP was falling Sony changed strategies and started targeting Apple spending money on marketing, ads etc. attacking it, and while people though it was stupid, it was more effective than just targetting the DS.

The Vita is doing, to put it nicely, poorly, and to be honest I think they should switch to attack Apple again, especially since it has even more features and they could use that to their advantage. This could potentially get ew devs on the system as well but who knows.

Personally, I think attacking Apple would be a better strategy for Sony and would make the Vita way more successful.

Just make some games worth buying, I don't want PS3 ports and sloppy seconds spinoffs of games already out.

Vita's main competition is the 3DS and that is what they need to overcome. It would work wonders for the the Vita if Sony was able to develop a public image of it being better than the 3DS.

What SONY needs is a small price drop ($50) and more games that people care about and Vita will start selling like hotcakes.

Apple is the handheld market, Ninty does hold a nice piece, but it's still Apple's world. So vita was doomed before it even was sold

If you think it's selling poorly compared to the 3DS why would you think it would be better comparing it against any single one of Apple's iOS capable devices, not including all of them?

And i aggre, whole mobile phone market is surly effecting henthelds, both Nintendo and Sony needs to show that they can do better but mobile market getting better too. I see mobile as PC market, since it's open variant of handheld, same as PC is open variant of home consoles. Same as PC, mobiles evolves faster since there always newer stuff every few mouths. Same as PC we don't hear much about it,the consoles have main stage and there fans complitly ignoring it, same as handheld users ignoring mobile market potential

Just like PC has the gaming market, so consoles only hold a piece? Wait, every computer runs flash so does flash gaming (and the 850 million facebook users) have gaming market and everyone else has a nice piece?

Second.

Sony has the best hardware. The vita is built for success, It feels better than all the other hand hold devices Ive played with and I feel it has so much potential.

But it really needs some unique software to back it up. Pump some more high end games into the mix. As well as some low end games and other useful apps and I wouldn't want to play with anything else. I don't want it to be an iphone, but at the moment its a little bland.

I guess its a cost/benifit issue. If sony want this device to win, it needs to invest more money into its software department.

The difference is PC actually delivers a better gaming experience than consoles but people avoid it because its so much hassle but tablets and smarphones offer a lesser but more affordable gaming experience than handhelds.
