Should Sony make PS4? Or should they rename and rebrand the product?

If the PS3 finishes dead last this generation, which is looking more and more like a reality, should Sony release a PS4?

4 in itself is a cheesy when put in the name of a movie, a game, and even worse in a console imo.

I think it may be time for Sony to rebrand their next console, drop the Playstation thing, and maybe copy another one of Nintendo's innovative ideas or something.

Do you know how well the Xbox 360 has been doing in Japan and Europe? Not well at all. Playstation 3 will end up finishing ahead of Xbox 360, because the only place that the Xbox 360 does well is in the US.

I just googled ps2 launch sales.

It seems the ps2 sold 900,000 units in Japan the first weekend, and 500,000 the first day in the U.S.

In all, it seems they reached the numbers they are at now in about half the time.
