That would actually be an awesome perk to the little system tbh. I don't do it for a lot of games, but if a game is good enough, the achievements/trophies make me replay it to collect them all.

I think Nintendo already confirmed that it will have achievements.
Yes. It adds an extra incentive to keep playing and would be a nice addition
EDIT: Apparantly they will be implemented

I thought that aswell EA or Nintendo mentioned about the 3DS having achievements and a restructured Online service.[QUOTE="Squall18"]

Here is a video it is from EA but Nintendo put it on their site and I doubt they would do that if it wasn't true.Link to an interview with Ryan Stradling from EA
The video talks about:
Friend List - See what games your friends are playing, and communicate with them.
Achievements- Exchange achievements with your friends, and share information.
"Sports Updates"- The context of this is a bit vague, it could be anything from a web browser to a RSS like feed that you can have the 3DS always updating for you.
"Real Time Updates" - Your 3DS can be always online, always updating.

thats awesome :D
Yes but it will have to be named '''Shrooms''
Yo dude, wanna get together and do some shrooms on the 3DS? :D
I hope not. Achievements are just a lazy way to implement 're-playability' into a title, instead of actually putting effort into making -the game itself- worth replaying. While they are good for bragging rights, I would prefer if developers tried harder to make more cohesive games instead.-Feath-Why not both? Achievements only take about an hour to come up with, probably less and they could spend a lot more time making a more cohesive game after that.
It'd be interesting and cool, but my bet is the 3DS will be easily hacked (despite Nintendo stating otherwise) and thus would ruin the hwole thing... yoshi_64Well not for me personally. I mean, i don't care about other peoples achievements.
That sounds dangerously addictive. But i love addiction, so yeah, im all for achievements in the 3DS.Anjunaddict
awesome :D
Nintendo is a company that caters to casuals and people who don't play many games, so imagine what their achievements would be like? Their first party titles will have really easy achievements :)PandaBear86:lol: Wow, I've never read anything as ridiculous. Nintendo caters to casuals? Which was the last Nintendo game you played? Play through Super Mario Galaxy 2 or Sin and Punishment 2 and tell me they're for casuals. Nintendo NEVER caters to the casual: they're the HARDCOREST of all. True, they've also attempted toappeal to casuals this gen, but they haven't done it at the cost of hardcore games. If Nintendo has an achievments system, you can bet here and now that it would probably be the best implemented and the most addicitve, as is usually the case with whatever Nintendo does. Casual company, indeed.

If the game is good enough, you'd likely play the game again anyway I would think.
I voted other. I don't really care about the trophies on my ps3 games, but I do feel that the in game rewards systems that used to be in a lot of games have been disappearing and I think this is the reason why, at least for the most part. I would much rather have a bunch of unlockable skins and such than an arbitrary number people on my friends list can see.
So, sure put it in, but don't let it replace good rewards systems.
Im Dying For a 3DS achievment system i don't own any consoles except my ps1 an if there was an achievment system the icons could be on the top screen in 3D. And i can brag to my friends at how great I am.
