[QUOTE="hyperboy152000"][QUOTE="navyguy21"] Buying an exclusive is cheaper than developing the game yourself. You have to factor is not only the budget of the game, which alone is more than buying a game, but also devs salaries, building upkeep, taxes, and all the jazz that comes along with running a business, or development studio. Also, buying is much safer, it allows you to "cherry pick" games to ensure success, or profitablility. When developing a new IP, you dont know if the game will succeed or not, which is why we see repeats, and rehashes all the time.navyguy21
yea but sony first parties share resources and if a development studio like GG makes an engine like they did then they share it with any first party dev from sony to ease the costs of producing their own engines like what unreal does with their engines
Doesnt matter, it is STILL more expensive. You think Using the Unreal engine on a PS3 game is cheaper than any other "shared tech" game?? Like i said, you are not only funding the game FULLY, you still have other expenses that you DONT have when you simply buy a game, or even partially fund it.actually i didnt say that unreal engine is cheaper, but i think thats more about how much royalties unreal wants from w/e company is using their code, besides no matter if you buy the game or you make the game you still have to front the costs of development and take the hit if sales are not up there, in fact i dont think it would have made a difference if MS bought a game like TLAD expansion or they made it themselves if they could, they still pay for its production
now to be back on topic, unless sony sells the ps3's like they are wii's MS has nothing to worry about at all
