Although the Wii U version was reviewed, this is also for PC via Steam (and for some reason, not for PS/XBOX like I thought it was).
After watching ProJared's review (I watched that before this), I'm quite interested. Are you?

Will download tonight for sure.... IGN seemed to love it, not that I am making my opinion off that. Seems to be a game made for old school mega man fans.
I am not sure what kind of game Tod likes at this point. Seems really hard to impress him on quite a spectrum of game genres. His negative comments in the write up really did not have much substance, more like he just didnt want to play it again after beating it. Oh well... still looks like fun to me.
I read Tom's review, and it seems like he thought the game was great. He just didn't like it as much on his second and third playthrough.
game really does nothing for me.Some reviews also tend to wear rose colored glasses while looking at this game.
Seems fair to me. I mean, lets face it, they are giving this game one point less then Infamous, which is so far is like the only reason to buy a next gen console. That seems really awesome for a game with a tiny fraction of it's budget.
"A great game you will have four to nine hours of fun with. Buy it for anywhere between two and fifteen dollars, whatever you feel such games are worth, and you won't be disappointed" Is how I would review it. I would say seven would be a bit high for such a rating, but then again 7.9 is total flopsville that results in devs losing bonuses, so to heck with reviewers and their flagrant disregard for numbers.
Igore Mcsheas reviews. they are irrelevant. And yes I will pick it up.
Please follow this sage advice everyone
Seems like he's really positive on the game. What's the issue?
Where in this thread did I say I had a problem with this?

There is no issue, but this is system wars, so someone needs to make an issue out of it.
@parkurtommo: I am not really into it either. But it's easy to do for developers. The indie games i like, aren't platformers, but i guess it's good for fans of platformers?

My word is absolute.
And it should be!

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn about your opinion.

This is actually how I'd like some reviews to be unless they were really trying to be like a hoity toity how does this change my views of life, reality, and the world around me style critique. $$$ is generally how me and my friends rate games to each other anyways. A lot of, it's cool if you can get it for $30 or the ultimate praise which is, "I got it for $30 but the game is so good that they deserved to get $60 from me."
I am planning on buying this at some point. I've been hankering a new platformer on 3DS and Wario Land 3 just doesn't do it for me.
Would have scored higher if it had a gay or he/she as the protagonist. Yep...... I took it there because it's the truth.

True, protagonist should have been a Puerto Rican transexual midget Elvis impersonator. They are under represented, and we we do see them, they are treated as stereotyped sex props to be fought over and won by the player.

Recently?
I agree though.
It would be pretty cool to play a platformer that strives for photorealism.
Go F**k yourself Mcshea, this game has a lot more depth than most Indie games.
After Watching the Review Video.
I really do like how Mcshea put it, but when he goes on about how he can go back to Megaman and Zelda 2 over and over and not get bored because they're timeless classics, but can get bored of Shovel Knight one time through I can't help, but ask...why?
The Cons he listed about going through Shovel Knight again felt like he was going through the motions I felt you can do the same thing with Megaman or Zelda 2 if you knew what you were doing.
I think the message was really clear through out the entire video. He sees this game as Old Fashioned and It should be scored as such. Mc7hea is really living up to his name.

I'd like that.

wouldn't that just be Mirror's Edge?

Mirror's Edge was one of the best games of last gen. I think a 2D platformer would be cool, though. It seems like you should be able to get just stunning graphics on a 2D platformer. It's kind of disappointing that so many people are going the 8-bit route. I don't complain too loudly, though, as long as the games are great.

Oh, I thought a 2D one.
Although I don't really consider Mirror's Edge photorealistic. More like highly stylized.

Well the problem is, making a photo realistic 2D game is a waste of resources. If you can only explore it from one perspective. So in that sense, stylized platformers make more sense.
