Seems fair to me. I mean, lets face it, they are giving this game one point less THAN Infamous, which is so far is like the only reason to buy a next gen console.

uhhhhh

-Pikmin 3

-Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze

-Super Mario 3D World

All three of these games contend with some of the very best games found from all of last gen.

I find the general hate for McShea's reviews is that he is tougher on giving high scores. Would I be correct in saying that?

7 seems fine to me. I would probably rate it higher, but I've only played the first couple levels. I am impressed though the game is pretty self aware and has a lot of personality. I also have to commend them for making such fun and fast-paced gameplay, when your main weapon of choice is a shovel.

Nah, even his high scoring reviews like SMG2 get flak to my understanding.

Nobody complained about that review. He gets flak because he sometimes gives lower-than-the-average scores to high profile games that fanboys think are entitled to AAA scores.

Uh heck no. It's because his criticisms tend to be nonsensical and plain weird.

Riiiiight...nobody would be complaining if games like The Last of Us and Skyward Sword got AAA scores from him.

You sure? Because I heard otherwise after reading a user blog that was talking about McShea over a year or so ago.

Well I suppose the masses wouldn't who just look at the scores and everything would seem OK. But it wouldn't solve the real problem with his reviews.

The ten point review system is completely asinine.

There is no reason not to just have a 5 point system and be done with it.

Especially when you consider that almost all reviews really work with just the top 5 numbers anyway.

As the perception stands now,

10 means great

9 Means good,

8 means average

7 means mediocre

6 means bad

5 and below equal shit

That's not the reality but that is the way that review scores are perceived.

Just use 5 points and be done with it. Simple, easy to Understand, and it will stop all this fanboy dumbassnes.

5 means Great a true rare gem

4 means Good

3 means Average

2 means Bad

1 means Shit

There is no reason to have anything in between. Everything else is just redundant.

This looks interesting. Added it to my Steam wishlist and will get it when I can.
