Seriously people? Why don't you actually go out and you know... BUY some games for the it?! You bought the system, the least you can do is play it instead of complaing about it. If you don't wana take a risk, you can just rent games for it. Besides, you can also buy the old awesome games like Zelda OOT and Mario bros. Pleae don't give me the "It doesn't have any games I'm intrested in!" Why don't you acually give them a shot?! Litle Kings Story is a perfect excample of a game that looks casual and is actually hardcore. Your missing out on excellent experinces!

Well, I'm done blowing out my steam. I'm not going to go on any urther because I'll just be repeating myself. And I'm not gong to recommend games ethier, because you cn actually find them if you look for them.

Couldn't use spell check becuase I'm afraid my stpud laptop is about to crash on me again.

Its really not any sort of excuse. By this logic my friends PS3 has been collecting dust for 2 years. It obviously isn't a reflection on the system so don't let it get you riled up.

In every local game store ive been to, the Wii section is lacking ALL of the good games pretty much. No SMG, no Madworld, no Metroid, no Brawl, and the list goes on.

Well what logic are we talking about here? If he hasnt turned on his PS3 in 2 years then it would indeed, be collecting dust.

Simple, first of all you can turn it on and still have dust on it lol. Second, the term is used to describe the state of the system. Both of them are fine so there isn't any reason to use it.

Agreed. If I wanted to say so, I could say that every system OTHER than my Wii is being a dust collector right now. If people want to buy a video game system and not play it, that's on them. Also, they there aren't any games on it that they want, which is what many like to say, perhaps that's something they should have thought about before putting down money on the system to begin with. Honestly, I couldn't care less what people call the Wii; the only thing that matters is how I'm enjoying, and I'm enjoying it a lot these days.

The "general" stores have done a terrible job of putting out the Wii games that a longtime gamer would be interested in... you definitely have to go to specialty shops like GameStop to get the "good stuff". - However the real problem with the Wii is that the "value" delivered by even games like Mad World is too low relative to the other games out there. On a good day I can maybe put in 4 hours of gaming time - given a choice between something like Brutal Legend, Demon's Souls, Valkyria Chronicles, Halo ODST, etc... and something like Mad World, King's Story, Zack & Wiki, or Warioware, the Wii titles are simply going to lose out. - I actually do buy games for my Wii, but half of them don't make it out of the shrinkwrap - I have too many other games I'm already playing on PC, 360, and PS3. The only Nintendo gaming I put any real time into is on the DS, because its portability lets me get in "game time" on the go. So... my Wii is a dust collector. I have to force myself to play games on it, at which point I can't justify it - if I have to *force myself* to do something that's supposed to be fun, something is clearly wrong.

I don't really know about people online--but there are many people I know who dislike it offline.

One thing I noticed though--is that most of the people I hear complaining about it offline never really have any good games for it when I ask them which ones they own. It's always the usual line-up of boring games(ex: Wii sports, Hot Wheels, Cars)--I really do find myself wondering at times if people who constantly criticize the Wii, ever buy any great games for the console.

I won't really argue with you on this since its not an arguable subject, (as far as value goes you aren't right and you're not wrong, what one sees worth and interest in playing varies greatly and thus its a personal thing with no definitive answer) but Zack and Wiki is brilliant and I totally believe it holds its own against any game you mentioned or any Nintendo first party game as well. The game is simply very well done. I suggest you try to make time to play it. Just my 2 cents.

Completely fair. I wouldn't call Z&W the second coming either but I do think its considerably more clever and thought out than most games this gen. I simply thought if you didn't play it it was worth a shot. I feel the same way about LBP (which I constantly state) but yeah, I do suggest you don't force yourself to play something. If you have no will why bother? Games are for enjoyment, you have no duty to play the games if you don't want too.

Oddly enough, I too feel that way about LBP. For all the hype, it was really just a construction kit, one that didn't come with all the "pieces" unlocked. I'm excited to see what they do in future games - if they give me a construction kit that lets me build, say, a Zelda world, I'd be happy - but a 2D platformer isn't enough "reward" for the "effort" of making a good level.

Yep, I read it, and it doesn't change a thing. I've done the old game thing, I've played all the big titles and even several of mid end titles. At the current moment it's a glorified dust collector.

I feel similarly but more so than that, I am a platforming fan and the game really just didn't play well imo. I think the sloppy core mechanic ruins any real progression that a user can make in creating the "next step" in 2D platforming. Creating a good platforming level involves it playing well and LBP just wasn't good at that. It ruins a lot of the community levels when none of them play up to the standard or even my NES platformers refinement wise or mechanic wise.

My Wii doesn't collect dust, my wife and kids play it. I personally don't like the games too much, but it keeps the wife and kids happy.

Well, like most entertainment, at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference. What I don't understand, however, is why so many people on SW love to proudly proclaim that their Wii collects dust. It's like saying

"HEY EVERYBODY, I MADE A BAD, UNINFORMED PURCHASE! AREN'T I GREAT???"

I'm gonna be one of those people you are sick and tired of but I must say my Wii is a dust collector.

HOWEVER.

However, 2010 looks like an amazing year. No More Heroes 2, Sin and Punishment 2, Epic Mickey, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Metroid Other M. I can't wait.

If i had a Wii this year there is ZERO games on which i would spend 50$. Next year there is one game YES ONLY ONE which is MH3 but then i read somewhere that it has montly fees and i was like lol wuuut? So yes if i had a Wii i don't even think it would be collecting dust cuz it would be in a shelf or sold.

okay, okay. It's not a dust collector. More like "electronic paperweight". Happy? :P Wii is the clubbed foot of this generation. It deserves nothing more than the ridicule it gets. . . IMO.

There's a lot of great games on the Wii and good games are releasing all the time. The garden variety gamer doesn't want to even give these games a try because of these factors:

1 graphic resolution

2 lack of blood

3 lack of breasts

I can tell you without batting an eyelash that I liked playing Spectrobes: Origins more than I did playing Batman AA, but most other gamers won't. Spectrobes doesn't have a high graphic resolution, there are no jiggling breasts, and there's no blood. Therefore, it won't attract people who are interested in playing video games for those factors.
