[QUOTE="Dibdibdobdobo"] Simple none of those games which you mentioned are hardcore. Simple games for simple minds!! A 5 year old can pick up any of those games and play. LKS is more hardcore than every single game which you mentioned funniely enough. Strategy / RPG game. Must have learning curve!! Games you mentioned dont.Dibdibdobdobo

Well sorry but I'm a financial analyst/accountant and a very sucessuful at it so please refrain from making personal attacks on me. I'm just stating what makes up Hardcore games I don't care for MW2 too generic or Halo too poppy for me. Now Final Fantasy I wouldn't necessarily call for simple minds. I guess I would need to include World or Warcraft in that also. That isn't a simple game. Personally I like VC also. Hey I'm just stating the games that have a huge hardcore following and unfortunately the biggest ones that came to mind where shooters that I personally don't care for.I should have mentioned World of Warcraft in addition to highlighting Final Fantasy.

Personal attack, Where?! your a Financial analyst?! Woah.... And...?! Whats this have to do with you being wrong. I'd count Final Fantasy for simple minds as its pretty simple game in comparison to other JRPG's as it has very little strategy in fights apart from XI.

Well I just was stating what are some of the hardcore games sorry if I didn't mention all your favorites. I did mention World or Warcraft and that isn't simple. Now gaming is just meant to be an outlet to get away from reality. For real meaning and intelligent thought read a book. I think you are just saying that JRPG's are the mainstream for hardcore and you really can't. There are other hardcore fans besides yourself and they don't necessarily like JRPG's. The Wii just doesn't seem to cater to the hardcore here on gamespot. Now this is SW and from hardcore we are talking about popularity of a game here. So unfortunately the games on the WII just don't attract the typical hardcore fans here at GS. Look at the seperate forum thread counts and you will know my point. Shoot look at SW and see how many threads are about PS3 and XBOX games and how few are about Wii games.

How wrong can you be on 2 differant occasions. I'm still intrested in where i was offensive towards you?! No i didnt say JRPG's where mainstream for Hardcore but said "for simple minds as its pretty simple game in comparison to other JRPG's as it has very little strategy in fights apart from XI." as FF main series has zero to no strategy behind the game but XI, Tactics series is more strategic, Knights in the Knightmare, Suikoden..... I could carry on with many more JRPG's which are more Hardcore than FF. Hardcore on GS?! Hardcore on GS is basically games with teen upwards rating, Blood, Guns and loads of violence which have no learning curve, Strategy, Puzzles... When did popularity have anything to do how Hardcore a game is?! Pokemon should be #1 then. You mentioned a Strategy / RPG previously which is more hardcore than everything which you mentioned which is LKS. Its exclusive to the Wii. Yes the whole argument of "Shoot look at SW and see how many threads are about PS3 and XBOX games and how few are about Wii games." pretty easiely. It has strategy, learning curve in comparison to blood, violence, weapons, boobies and the many more things which people count as Hardcore on SW's.

If you want to talk abotut real hardcore stuff, you gotta brush out the FF - no FF is hardcore. They're all pretty much made to be accessible. Hardcore games are games like IL2, ArmA2, Anno, and Baroque. By nature, hardcore games are niche games with very small followings. If the game is very popular, chances are, it's really not all that hardcore.

Why? The wii has the weakest lineup out of all 3 consoles.

who cares if ps3 360 hve more threads than the wii? 360 was released first so its only natural that that happens. and anyway, everyone knows GS can also be called cow-land, cows outnumber sheep 2:1. but this is just GS, there are other sites you know.

BTW i completely agree with you TC, people bash the wii just because its popular, and the wii has the best games this gen.FACT

Here's my problem:

I bought a Wii because it seemed cool at the time (over 2 years ago). About a year after I got my Wii, I got an HDTV and a PS3.
The last game I bought for the Wii was Chocobo's Dungeon in July 2008.

Long story short: I think the only hardcore gamers still playing Wii are the ones who can'tafford a PS3, or 360 with (or without) an HDTV.
I'm not trying to act rich or anything, don't get me wrong. I just think that's how it is.
They can act as passionate as they want about the Wii,but the truth is, most of these guys don't even know what they're missing in the first place.

Seriously people? Why don't you actually go out and you know... BUY some games for the it?! You bought the system, the least you can do is play it instead of complaing about it. If you don't wana take a risk, you can just rent games for it. Besides, you can also buy the old awesome games like Zelda OOT and Mario bros. Pleae don't give me the "It doesn't have any games I'm intrested in!" Why don't you acually give them a shot?! Litle Kings Story is a perfect excample of a game that looks casual and is actually hardcore. Your missing out on excellent experinces!

Well, I'm done blowing out my steam. I'm not going to go on any urther because I'll just be repeating myself. And I'm not gong to recommend games ethier, because you cn actually find them if you look for them.

Couldn't use spell check becuase I'm afraid my stpud laptop is about to crash on me again.

easy, people is saying that much less often every day.Wii managed to build a very decent lineup to choose .Even in sw is generally accepted by most impartial gamers that Wii provides a lot of good games from horror to action.

thats a bit of BS as many wii owners(including me) have a ps3 at home(the ones that post at forums and dont buy wifit). The problem are gamers like you that buy a game for it 2 years every time, say nonono i dont think the other games are good(so i dont buy them-since i dont buy them ,they arent good, since im absolute>thats denial). How can you speak about affording when the 360(which i dont have but i accept it to provide the same experience my PS3 does) is cheaper?is not about affording, is about knowledge. To me ,it seems that people who cant afford to buy wii games(due to limited budget or time) are the ones who still believe that crap.Honestly, the PS3 with assasins creed, MG4 ,SF4 and GT4 that i have, didnt provide me any superb experience that made me not buy games like Madworld or Dead Space E by contrast. At least i got games for both systems, but you?2008?seriously.

I love my Wii and the games I have for it, but it's been a pretty weak system the last year and a half or so. 2010 looks much better though.

Its no surprise that most posters, even editors of this website does not like the Wii. Afterall, Gamespot is really is a hardcore and elitist game site. There's no doubt about that. I mean game site in general like IGN and GiantBomb are a gaming website for hardcore and elitists gamers only. A lot of casuals does not even know what gamespot and some game website is. If ever they know some news in gaming its either they get it from Yahoo news games or other search engine news. So really, elitist gamers keep mentioning that Wii is collecting dust but does not realize that they are just minority. Funny how minority in the market such as elitist gamers shouts and rants the most in SW.

I'm not alone. Alot of people haven't picked up a Wii game in a year or so.
But I'll tell you why: Because there's always something bigger, prettier, and at the same price point on the PS3 or 360.
Madworld and Dead Space aren't games people will be talking about years from now. The only reason they're getting mentioned so much is because that's how dried up the Wii's pool has gotten. Stand either one of those games up next toany of PS3's bigger titles, and I think I know which one most people are going for.
Do you want a Pinto or a Ferrari? Your choice.

Madworld is being mentioned because the Wii's 2009 lineup is dry? Have you been up to date on Wii games? Methinks not.

Madworld's the only game anyone's talked about for the Wii in the last 5 months.
And what...? Dead Space?
And uh...a re-packaging of the Metroid games?
Sounds kinda boring.
Maybe I am uniformed about Wii's 2009 line-up. I've been too busy playing COD, SF4, RE5, LBP, Fallout 3, and Batman AA over the past 12 months. And now I got Demon's Souls to keep me busy.
All in the highest picture and sound quality with easy online.

PS: I'm really coming off as a Wii-hater here. But just think of me as a disgruntled customer instead.

I would say my Wiicollects dust (I know things that run collect more dust, I'm just using it as a saying).

1. I do "BUY" games for it, there are not that many games I'm interested in though (don't tell me not to give you my honest answer).
2. Also, I played the "old awesome" games back when they came out, I don't want to rebuy what I already own.

[QUOTE="doll94"]my wii is a dust collector.. and the reason i dont go out and buy games for it is, id rather buy a ps3 or 360 game than spend my money on yet another game that will dissapoint me. enterawesome
Now how do you know that? Can't you just, you know, broaden your horizens a bit? Rent a game? Something?

ok ok.. i was being a bit overly harsh.. i have on occasions gone out and actually gotten a few wii games i really enjoy, little kings story was the last one, brilliant game.

The Wii is nothing but a dust collector. I don't play Wii games because they cost waaaayyyy too much. I bought boom blocks for $30 and I've never in my life felt so ripped off by a game. I don't want to go out and rent games because at my local blockbuster it costs $10 for a week rental, which I feel is too high to be worth seven days of play. The Wii truely doesnt have many game I want to play at all. If you can name one game for the Wii I will name three that I would rather have for the PC...

The only reason mine doesn't collect dust is because my firends and I have weekly Smash Bros tournements. Otherwise, I would never touch the thing.

OK, then I'll call it a Game Cube with motion controls.
