Poll Simple question - Do you think Star Citizen will deliver on release? (87 votes)

Yes 43%
No 55%

Hello, straight forward poll question., on release do you expect Star Citizen to deliver the goods, or falter?

No Caption Provided

I'm expecting it to require extensive emergency patching, with many angry users, and probably get a "rebirth" edition down the line that fixes many issues and adds promised features.

@firedguy33: What has NMS got to do with Star Citizen besides the Sci-Fi theme?

Nothing,

it was a rhetorical question ofc.

Considering that what they have released in early-alpha stage already is better than most released AAA+ games out there I would say that not only they will deliver but they will be one of the pushing forces of the Gaming industry for years to come.

In what universe is it better than AAA+ games?

Content? no

Graphics? no

Performance? No

Gameplay? No

U.I - no?

16 vs 16 that is actual stable and not bug ridden bare bones after 2 years of development? - no?

They are nowhere near the quality of an AAA game in any department other than base-graphics.

@MBirdy88: Not only they surpass most AAA+ games but combine several +AAA games features into one single package and provide gameplay possibilities that you cant get anywhere else .

I gotta agree with you here. I've been playing Star Marine since they launched it and it's still a buggy mess.

Still nowhere near AAA quality at the moment but hopefully they get there someday, it's still an Alpha.

no need to preach, I'm a backer.

What it CAN be is not what it CURRENTLY IS.

so no, as it stands, its not offering more content than an AAA game, and certainly not the usability/playability of one.

That Zane guy needs to be let go, his ship U.Is ... or whoever is actually implementing them is crap. they don't even scale well on larger resolutions.

Trying playing the game on a 27' 1440p monitor.... look like Paint level U.I ... and the god awful what console-level Field of View... which they claim they may have to keep ... because of their shitty helmet designs.

Chris Roberts.... complexity over functionality.

In the grand scheme of things? No. People are already scrutinizing it and will continue to do so even if it does end up being the second coming of Jesus. Gamers dont like to admit that they're wrong.

For me personally? Yes, I dont have much expectations for it. But I've given the game a spin already, get ships feel awesome to fly and I'm not much of a flight person as I never knew how to deal with maneuvering around something off my screen other than to try tail the marker.

Have alot of old gaming buds I've gathered over the years that will likely be all on it too because of how ubiquitous the game has become within PC gaming communities, so it should be fun as long as we can play together.

I hope the Sci-Fi theme is the only thing that these 2 games have in common. Wouldn't want Star Citizen to be a PR disaster caused by incompetent developers and irresponsible hype.

Absolutely.

From what I hear, the game isn't going to release. Even the devs are hinting at it.

No they aren't. They just released another major content update to the game.

If that's the case, why does Star Citizen's own website have a URL saying that Derek Smart was right (about them running out of money)?

BTW, does that major content update finish the game? If not, then I'm not sure your point. My point is that they might have enough money to release an update, but it's not looking like they have enough money to actually create a finished, working product. If they were going to run out of money, they're going to present the illusion that all things haven't gone to shit (until it's too late).

@KHAndAnime: So basically you're just saying they are running out of money with nothing to back that up. Figures.

So long as we don't have a Battlecruiser 3000AD debacle. Lots of us still remember that one.

I don't expect this game to ever release let alone deliver.
