Why was that the expectation? Pretty sure none of those games were ever announced as exclusives. And all of those franchises had already gone multiplat by the end of the PS2/Original Xbox generation. Hell, RE4 was originally a gamecube exclusive, and didn't even come to PS2 until later. Why would anyone have expected any of those games to be PS3 exclusive?

Silly mems. The PS3 currently has 37 high quality (Rated 8 or higher) retail exclusives according to Gamespot, compared to 35 for the Wii and 34 for the Xbox 360, respectively. Not exactly a landslide victory, but quite the comeback consider it started off this year with only 31 high quality games.

As someone who owned a Wii and 360 last gen, I wish I would have gotten a PS3. Between Infamous, Uncharted, and The Last of Us I feel like I missed out on some of the best gaming experiences of all time. That said, name ONE Sony exclusive that is as iconic as Mario, LoZ, or Halo. You can't, those three franchise are the epitome of gaming. While the PS3 may have the best overall library, it does not actually have the best exclusives.

This gen I will be getting all the consoles because as someone who loves gaming, I don't want to miss out on any great gaming experiences.

Because if you're saying halo is great because it's popular and not because it's a good game then this would only go to prove what I said weeks ago that the 360 only appealed to bro and trend gamers who like CODHALOGEARSFORZA and such. Uncharted is pretty iconic for a new IP, MGS4 remains untopped in the PC and 360s library till today. Halo is generic garbage FPS that was only popular because it was all the original xbox had to carry XBL on. Mario and Zelda appeals to nostalgia and casuals and this is proven by the 280% (was it?) sales bump the WiiU got when those games launched. Nintendo is only wanted and relevant with those games. The PS3 however isn't conditional. Hands down. The PS3's library in terms of quality and not just shortcutting or targeting a specific demographic, the PS3's library shits on the Wii and 360. The PC is great and everyone knows the PC has it's own and the PS3 has it's own and in the 7th gen PC/PS3 was the best way to go but when I say this even though it's completely true, people will say I'm hiding behind the PC? What am I hiding from? The PS3 library can stand on its own. The 360 and XBL will literally die and disappear without Cod, Halo, or Gear (ALL MULTIPLATFORM TREND BRO GAMES). With the PS3 however you can take away all multiplatforms and still have a fcking brilliant and solid independent library that carries ALL genre and demographic. Gran Turismo comes to mind as it's a world wide sales phenom. It is Sony's Halo or Mario in terms of sales. It's presence in the media is well noted used in famous Car TV shows, etc. Personally, I'm not into any car games and I would rather play Mario, Halo, or Zelda...but Gran Turismo came to mind to answer:

name ONE Sony exclusive that is as iconic as Mario, LoZ, or Halo.

GT is often forgotten in SW. Marketing is also a major factor in certain games that are considered Iconic. The solution there is Sony could make less games but spend more on Marketing...but that would result in less games for gamers.

For my money though, I would say Sony's God of War, Sony's Shadow of the Colossus, or Sony's Demon's Souls are pretty Iconic. I had a blast with the GOW series as I did with GeoW, Mario, or a Halo.
