Since PS3 gamers are so proud of KZ3, how about KZ3 vs Crysis 2 PC?

If PS3 fanboys claim KZ3 is way better looking than Crysis 2 console, then it is better looking than Crysis 2 PC max too, since PC version is nearly identical to console version.

AA and resolution do make the game less jagged, but in terms of pure visual, both versions are almost the same. If Killzone 3 is superior to console Crysis 2, it is therefore more advanced than Crysis 2 PC as well.

Well obviously either KZ3 doesn't look as good as Crysis 2 on consoles, or Crysis 2 on PC looks better than it does on consoles by a margin that fits KZ3 in the middle. I think the latter is the general concensus.

Crysis 2 is a disgrace of a PC game. How about comparing it to a non dumbed down game like the first Crysis or warhead?

Killzone looks pretty damn good to me!

Crysis 2 on PC looks much better than Crysis 2 on ps3 and yes I have them both. In addition to the higher resolution and better overall graphics, I get a much better framerate on the PC version. KZ3 is a great looking game and one of the best this generation. I would say KZ3 looks better on the ps3 than Crysis 2 but it doesn't compare to Crysis 2 on the PC.

Killzone looks pretty damn good to me!

It looks fantastic until you look closer. The first pic is practically a corridor with so much bloom (although it looks pretty as hell), second pic is filled with low res textures, just look at the plant life (it's nicely designed though), and the third pic looks like they're made out of rubber, and look at the floor texture and foilage. Crysis 2s much higher resolution

And guess what, Crysis 3 will be multiplatform too.

Know why? Cuz Crytek just make a ton of money of Crysis 2. It's selling like hot cakes.

Yes Crysis 2 was a kick in the noble parts for PC gamers but Crytek don't give a crap about that. They care about the money, and the Multiplatform business its a multimillion business

Well twice the resolution is quite the difference not to mention that the PC can actually run this nerfed sequel.

It's already been Proven that Killzone 3 looks better then Crysis2 on consoles that's all we need. So yeah you could play World of Warcraft in 1080p on PC 2 the game still wouldn't be all that impressive.

The lighting and shadowing on the 360 vs PC are NOT the same.

The PC uses a more accurate solution for both and a shadowing solution that takes up more RAM. The lighting looks better on PC. Period.

More importantly are the differences in performance though. There is no pop in on the PC while the consoles are riddled with it, and the frame rate on consoles is inconsistent and often very low.

Not the case on PC.

I agree that Crysis 2 looks good, but "far better than any console game"? No. I'm not even sold that it's the best, actually after playing it a 2nd time I'm quite sure Killzone 3 is substantially better looking (even though on first impressions I went with Crysis 2). LIike the poster above said in reference to the PC version, the console versions of crysis have way more pop-ins and some jangly shadows depending on the viewpoint you are seeing them from. There are plenty of games that don't have those issues on console, and KZ3 looks pretty much as good but with less "drawbacks". I've said it before, *IF* Crysis had managed 30FPS and ZERO draw in issues on console, it would have been best looking game on consoles. But it becomes a tough debate when the game runs at 22-28 Frames per second, has pop-ins, and has a decent amoung of jaggies.

That picture is actually pretty crap looking too BTW. That environment you just took a screenshot is basically what I would call the ugliest environment in the game, the sections with trees and parks are all mostly the ugliest locales in the game (except the last section where Central park rises out of the ground, that actually looked fairly impressive in motion). Crysis 2 looks at it's best in the nighttime environments or when it's nothing but city streets with no greenspace.

the textures are half the size of Crysis 1's textures, they are really ugly and are hidden by Bloom

even worse is that Crytek are not allowing us to mod Crysis 2, so no good texture packs or graphics mods

i think both are really close, still give KZ3 the edge visually but not by a huge margin like some sony fanboys claim..

also why i'm not surprised that the 'well known' Xbox fan(boy)s in here claim crysis2 is the best looking game on consoles... i wonder why :p

Should probably mention that the console versions of Crysis 2 run on the 'High' setting preset, i.e. the lowest preset available on the PC version, while the latter goes all the way up to the Very High and Extreme settings (and, with a custom config file, even higher). As if they weren't enough on their own, higher levels of AA/AF and higher resolutions are not the only differences between the two versions.

But in motion, dynamic lighting with numerous sources, Bokeh, no performance problems (unlike its console sister), etc. Crysis 2 PC is not so far behind Crysis Warhead Max.

yeah, crysis 2 on the pc is almost exactly the same as the console versions core graphics wise,

but on the pc version there's - much less object pop up (a huge plus), higher quality shadows, slightly more accurate lighting, 1080p and 60fps. Crysis 2 on the pc is hella impressive.
