How can there be single player pass? Single player doesn't require servers and online upkeep like Online play does

I am willing to bet we are going to see cdkeys.. Where you have to register them to your account.. Making it account bound.. This has been enforced by the PC industry for years now.. The only reason why consoles haven't embraced it yet was due to technological gaps in the expectation of people having a online connectiona nd other such things..

No. Devs make you have passes because they have to pay for the bandwidth for you to play on their servers. carljohnson3456

.. No.. Devs require the passes to gain SOME profits they are losing from the massive used game industry.. To be honest I always found this double standard hilarious.. The hatred towards piracy on this forum on how devs are losing their hard earned money and what not.. While vehemet defense to the used game industry in which the devs don't see a dime from..

I can see this happening. Remember people, these game companies are making a big deal of used game sales and if the online pass isn't good enough for them, then expect a pass for singleplayer as well because they will for sure do this. We all thought that they wouldn't do this with multiplayer a while ago but now look. Don't act like a singleplayer pass isn't going to happen because it will.

What would be the difference between a "sp pass" and the price of the game?

i think they should start selling the MP seperatly, so instead of getting a game for $60 bucks, you can buy two games for $60 bucks, but the MP is like a downloadable game. So you wouldn't need the disc to play it, so the disc only contains the sp game. That way they can sell the MP separately as a DD so for someone like me that might not even bother with the SP of CoD can skip the cost and just get the online game. Right now I don't think its fair that the online pass is seperate and gets tied to an account but you need to keep the disc to play online. Instead they should just split it up, $35 for the SP game, $25 for the MP.

I suppose the same as an online pass: get it free when you buy the game new, pay $10 for one if you buy used.

It's called paying for the game >.>mrmusicman247

in the future you pay for the priveldge of having a disk in your hand.

Then you pay again to play the single player

Then you pay again to go online

then you pay extra to play it MMO style

then you pay extra for some stages, items that were meant to be there via dlc.

then pay for extra premium "plus"service/features above normal online- like entering tournaments, add-free gaming, exclusive video, earlier demos etc..

:P

That would seriously suck if we did have to do that. That means buisnesses like Gamestop would die out because of that.

Book it by next gen we will need a SP pass to play games.

Golden_Boy187

Should that occur, then an unprecadented wave of piracy would be sure to follow.

This will never happen--Companies will simply eliminate single player all together. Yup, you'll need multiplayer for the next LA Noire or Half-Life.

Yarvem

Guess I'd better start stocking up on choose your own adventure books.
