There's no doubt that singing is a huge market everywhere and especially with America with all those American Idol type talent shows. Fitness is also very popular but fitness devices and methods are constantly changing and advancing.

I, myself, don't like singing or doing stationary fitness (I play tennis). I do think Singstar will get more casuals because the music industry is much, much larger than the fitness industry.

Reguardless Wii Fit could possibly outsell the Singstar Series completely.

Ah quoted for the truth, I was about to bring that up before I read your post. You can't pass off Guitar Hero/Rockband as hardcore. Hardcores love it but it's definitely not hardcore. Expensive too. Throw in DDR while you're at it.

We're talking about install base. PS3 can run Singstar. WiiFit can't run on the GameCube.

I said it was possible. And it is. This 200 million dollar franchise has had 3 years to mature on a platform dominated by casuals. Wii Fit is a new franchise that will be released on a platform dominated by casual gamers, give it a few years.

There is nothing biased about this statement.

I'd much rather have Singstar

Reasons:

• I enjoy music
• I use iTunes
• I use Myspace
• Singing with friends is funny because you get to see how bad all of you suck
• WiiFit... I play games knowing the fact I'm not going to be getting exercise but when I do I'd much rather have fun doing it.. not standing on a damn balance board.

WiiFit is related to Wii. It's gonna be a success just because of that. Not sure about US but it will be popular in Japan for sure.m_machine024

wii fit may be huge as my rod, but singstar is where it's at. casuals would rather sing than excercise. Look at America!!!!

If you go look at software sales at vgchartz, you will find that NO iteration of SingStar has broken 1 million units sold. If it is a $200 million franchise, thats 4 million sold (@ $50) over ALL the versions.

WiiFit will be huge. I would imagine Boogie will outsell Singstar.

Guys, Wiifit WILL be wildly popular. But lets not think in the terms of hype that normal hardcore players think in, lets think like the general public.

Wiifit got a huge article on the front page of the business section of my newspaper during E3. Singstar, i hate to tell you guys, got nothing. Why? Because casuals aren't looking towards the PS3 for anything. Casuals will not shell out $500 for videogames, and even if they did, they wouldn't even know the difference between a PS3 and a 360. The only think they know are the DS and Wii.

If Singstar was coming to the Wii, then it might (and just might) have the remotest posibility of competing with Wiifit sales wise. However, its not. The fact that right now 50% of the people in the poll think singstar will sell better is just reaffirming the fact that lemmings are idiots and Cows are the fools who follow them.

singstar is pretty fun imo.

maybe i'm an athlete and have a hard time seeing how you can get a work out by shifting weight on a scale
