Comparing piracy to bank robbery? You look desperate.all I can say is this.
but you cannot play the pc version....So? If I go to a bank rob it and am notable to use the money for a few days because the police are looking for me doesn't mean a damn It still means I robbed a bank.WilliamRLBaker
Just swallow it up and admit that 360 pirates have foiled the day. You are defending your platform so much you are starting to appear as if you are defending your pirates.
[QUOTE="LovePotionNo9"]Neither has the PC version. What are you talking about? Its been up for download even longer than the 360 version... and don't give me that "bu- bu- but they can't play it for a few days!!" garbage. There's a reason why there aren't that many big-budget PC exclusives anymore...Does this mean the PS3 version is better since it hasn't been pirated yet?

[QUOTE="-CheeseEater-"]Nah, but developers can only/ever complain about piracy on the PC! :| Makes me sick that they 'delay' PC games like Batman, GTA IV etc. over 'PC' piracy, when consoles are always the first to leak and have the pirated copies out running well before it's even the release date.Deniable_OpsBut on which one do the devs lose more money on huh? Which platform? Enlighten me xD
Neither. One copy pirated =/= one lost sale. Many people would not have gotten the game if it wasn't for free. In other words - basic concepts of demand, the lower the price, the higher the quantity demanded.
If 50k people were willing to buy a game, and 30k people would only ever get the game if it's free, then all piracy does is perhaps causing only 45k people buying the game instead of 50k, while 35k would pirate. That doesn't mean that all 80k people would have bought the game if there was no piracy!
The fact that PC versions of games tend to have lower sales is not dominated by the presence of piracy. The primary causes are in fact effort and DRM. The less effort the devs put into a PC port, obviously the poorer sales they will get despite how they wish otherwise, and the more intrusive the DRM the less appealing the port will be to gamers (while giving them more incentive to pirate a DRM-free version).
Witcher 2 for example has NO DRM, and the PC version of BF3 is not just a cheap port. If piracy truly dominates the sales of a PC version, then those two games wouldn't have sold nearly as gloriously.

To be honest I think you two know that the PC version hasn't been pirated yet but you know we can't prove you wrong because links are prohibited, so you just say that it has.

Google search says otherwise, hacker forums are already discussing it, Really, could you send me a PM with a link then, because as far as I can tell the multi10 clone-dvd that everyone posted is a fake and has already been deleted by most sites. And even if was leaked for PC it still is a steamworks game which means its not a matter of not being able to not play it for a couple days, but PC pirates would have to wait until its officially released - over a week from now.Google search says otherwise, hacker forums are already discussing it, you are starting to resemble a small child with his fingers in his ears who doesn't want to believe reality and wants this all to be a dream, you wonder why PC software sales are so low? Google search confirms its a fake actually, if you spent the time to read up on those Google search results you would have figured this out for yourself before coming back to make yourself look more ignorrant than you already have...
Defending your console pirates by using false claims and damage control effort with "bu-bu-but the PC one has been pirated first!"
Pelvist is right. Skyrim on PC is definitely not found on any major torrent sites. It hasn't been leaked other than on the 360. Damage control? LOL, maybe your little slight against me would hold weight if Console Piracy actually caused serious harm to Console Gaming the way PC piracy does to PC gaming, remember when Crytek were absolutely revered by you guys? I wonder what happened there?[QUOTE="-Unreal-"]Like I told the other guy, Skyrim for PC has not been leaked. It just hasn't. Here's your answer.Yes, you're definately doing what I thought you were. Pretending that the PC version has indeed been leaked because you know we can't prove you wrong. However, you can't prove it right. It's up to you to prove it's been leaked. There is no PC leak and that's the bottom line. If there was it would be on that infamous torrent website that almost all of us will know of. The ones you've seen are complete fakes. You are making it out as if people don't upload fakes of these titles."Hacker forums" also gave me a chuckle. Yes, you're full of porky pies.

lol and the pc version has been up for about a week and a half... and the developer pcversion was released like 6 weeks ago on torrent...
WilliamRLBaker
The PC version is not out yet, nice try though
MW3 did, but Skyrim you can't pirate yet, xbox360 you can.
um...the pc version of skyrim full retail has been up on torrent for about a week now but since one cannot post proof here since its a TOS violation I leave it up to you to look for it *you wont you'll just say but it hasn't been pirated yet* and the pc developer version was torrented about 6 weeks ago.
Having just checked the comments on the worlds largest site, it seems that 360 Skyrim is the only real one.
Edit: Or that the PC one does'nt work at least. I'm not going to check for obvious reasons.
Why would you pretend that the PC version is leaked just to strengthen the arguement that PC gaming is piracy ridden? It's really pitiful. Everyone here knows the PC version hasn't been pirated yet. MW3 has though, but no one playing it, only the Xbox360 players are.
When did I say PC gaming is piracy ridden? I have never denied that Consoles suffer from Piracy, my argument is that Console gaming doesn't suffer from it nearly as badly as PC gaming does, so when I see this thread that has been created purely to demonize the Consoles and divert attention away from the PC's issues, I have to question your audacity TC.Why would you pretend that the PC version is leaked just to strengthen the arguement that PC gaming is piracy ridden? Rather funny that you litterally use the word "demonize" when you're of the conviction that PC piracy is a much larger issue and at the same time take offense to the notion that 360 is the first victim to piracy in certain cases.

PC sales numbers are low for a reason (which is false,) and PC gets no big-budget exclusives anymore (which is also false.)
The Wii and 360 were not far behind PC's numbers last year. Now that the PS3 is cracked, it'll likely match or exceed PC.

I never said you did say it was piracy ridden. That's the general consencus here. So by questioning my "audacity" you use lies to strengthen the arguement that PC gaming is piracy ridden, like I said. Skyrim on PC isn't being pirated yet. You said it was. You tried to back that up by telling us it's on "hacker sites" when it's not. This doesn't make a damn bit of difference in the real world. We all know that we're (or at least most of us are) going to be buying a legitimate copy or DD as soon as it is out on the street, regardless of whether we pirated it or not. By the way don't pirate it because they say it's naughty (not that I really believe that)...
[QUOTE="Deniable_Ops"][QUOTE="GhoX"] Neither. One copy pirated =/= one lost sale. Many people would not have gotten the game if it wasn't for free. A Pirated copy IS a lost sale because the Pirate is playing your game without paying for it, its as simple as that. 2. You can blather on with your baseless estimations all you want, just how do you know exactly that a pirate wouldn't have bought the game, if hadn't seen it just waiting to be torrented? What about if he gets it from his friend who also Pirated it? I have tried to enlighten you, but regretfully you don't even know the most entry-level economics to understand. Go back and play your consoles. Perhaps you will learn more in college, kid.
He's right, 1 pirated copy doesnt equate a 1 lost sale. Thankfully he didn't say buying used is a lost sale. LOL that would have been ridiculous because you could use the same argument on piracy for used games.
On topic: I don't understand this whole idea of trying to prove which has the most piracy consoles or PC. Piracy is piracy, its on all platforms. It doesn't matter if there are more gas station robberies or bank robberies, stealing is stealing.
