Sly vs Jak: who do you want next?

With Ratchet and Clank selling exceptionally (and surprisingly) well, we are bound to see a sequel in the works. We will probably see more animated 3d platformers making a comeback on the playstation and possibly competing platforms as well.

Ratchet was part of the "big 3" platformers of the PS2 era. Who would you like to see next: Jak & Daxter or Sly Cooper? It is possible we will get remakes or full blown reboots (or possibly a sequel to sly cooper: thieves in time).

Neither of them. New ips please. They can be spiritual successors for all I care, as long as it has fresher ideas.

A new IP would be good but if I had to choose it would be Sly because I love Sly Cooper more than I do Jak,

Well, Naughty Dog made Jak, and Sucker punch Sly; no reason we can't have both.

I would love a new Jak game by Naughty Dog. I was thinking about it recently that it would be great if they made another Jak game using some of Uncharted's gameplay. Like not a more-of the-same Jak game, but one that implements Uncharted's action gameplay and movie-like feel. While still maintaining the core of Jak. Maybe they can go with a new different storyline and characters too so that the story is more serious and meaningful this time. It sounds amazing on paper, but I doubt they will ever take that approach if they make another Jak game.

Sly had the much bigger potential as a platforming series. Sly's stealth platforming was great and if they focus on that, they could make a truly brilliant and unique game.

Sly already got a pretty decent entry in Thieves in Time, apparently Lost Frontier kinda stinks so Jak.

Sly, I always found the Jak games boring tbh. They felt like vastly inferior Banjo Kazooie games

Jak, there would be so much world potential on this gen.

Sly Cooper if they make it like the first Sly game where it is linear and focuses on great stealth platforming levels. I'm not a fan of the sequels that went open world and would take me away from the platforming. Otherwise, I'm not interested in either. Give me Crash Bandicoot instead!

The last Sly game was great on PS3, i'd take a new one of those.

I'd appreciate new ideas in this case. As long as they follow traditional platformers and not Jak 2, I'd be interested.

I played Jak way more back in the day. But thanks to my kid, I had the good fortune of playing Sly recently and definitely prefer that series. Humor is better and the variety is much more expansive. But as stated, I'd prefer a new IP.

Neither. We already got Sly 4 and that was okay. The only good Jak game was the first, let the franchises rest. If they ever do make more have Sanzuru do it and let Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch move on.
