1st off smackdown has been lacking since 2004's Smackdown Vs Raw. The So called 360/PS3 games are just PS2 games. Anyway, based pn these new screens, how will TNA do?

TNA wont sell (even if it turns out to be a better game) because it doesnt have the WWE name.

Too early to tell, I need to see the fighting engine first. I personally haven't liked any wrestling games since No Mercy for the N64. Why that fighting system wasn't directly ported to the Smackdown games I'll never understand.

Unless it gets AAA reviews across the Net, I seriously doubt it'll break a million. I don't think TNA has enough presence in its name to attract enough people to games using the name. Just my opinion, though.

Ownership issues, maybe. They may have been locked out of it since then.

That may not be true...Def Jam(if I am not mistaken)...sold pretty well and it didn't have the WWE name...haterex

Def jam is already an established franchise, it had 2 great games before ICON came out (which btw, was the worst game in the series)

TNA doesnt have that luxury

TNA doesn't yet have the fanbase to sell high numbers of videogames. I hear Against All Odds got 15 000 buys. Thats pathetic. If they can only sell that many for their pay-per-views I cant see their game selling too well either.

Additionally TNA doesn't have the massive global audience of the WWE so any international sales will likely be even worse than in America. The screenshots look fantastic and it could be a great game but the audience for it just isn't there yet.

TNA and WWE are both terrible. The TNA vs WWE debates annoy me because its like arguing which pile of turd you would rather eat.

I'm glade I didn't buy Smackdown 2008 , still we shouldn't be surprised it sold that much since it is on multiple consoles.

As for TNA I don't watch it and not interested in it, besides looking at the roster it filled with ex-WWE wrestlers.

I stoped buying wrestling games since the first Smackdown vs Raw and have no intention of buying TNA.

TNA looks like the best wrestling game since No Mercy on the N64, but it won't sell as many copies as a WWE game, since WWE is the larger brand.

The last little interview I saw the devs stated that No Mercy was a heavy influence on the way Impact plays.

N64 engine got boring fast.

And the Smackdown games didn't?

The N64 engine had a much bigger moveset per character and deeper gameplay then any other WWE game ever made. It had location specific damage long before Smackdown and was the only WWE game I played that actually took your opponents weight into consideration when trying to pull off an offensive maneuver. Not to mention the weapons actually did damage appropriate to what they were made off (signs or light objects would hurt, but sledghammers could knock you out cold).

The game play was slower, but with a 4 players the game simply couldn't be touched.

I hope this is true. I haven't touched the Smackdown series in years because the gameplay felt too watered down and casualized. I've never watched TNA, but then I never watched WWE much until I played the N64 series.

If you were good in those N64 wrestling games, then u can easily exploit it flaws. Smackdown 1- Smackdown Vs Raw(2004) was really an arcade game.
