Don't be stuck in the past. SMB3 was 2d, can't really compare the two.

the sweet sweet galaxy level was possibly surpassing SMB3 levels of fun and difficulty, imo.

I agree with you completely. I also never really enjoyed the 3D Mario titles as much as the 2D. I've been waiting for the day when Nintendo makes a new 2D Mario title using the power of modern consoles...and Super Paper Mario didn't quite cut it.

However, personally, I would almost be willing to put Galaxy on par with the best of the 2D titles.

60fps is nothing considering that game has no bump mapping/texture/polygons.

and this game doesn't look better than any Xbox game like Ninja Gaiden or DOA3 or other countless titles.

It does have bump mapping, just not a lot of it. Do you even have the game? Also, Ninja Gaiden nor DOA3/Ultimate looks better than Mario Galaxy, those games don't even look better than Metroid Prime 3.

Please go see the queen bee. By your statement zabout the games looks, I'm guessing that you've done little more than look at screenshots. The 1st impressions idea is to actually experience the game. Please do so then come back and post.

I played it at Gamestop, and I was totally blown away. I have to rack down a Wii, because whenever I think about how I'm not gonna be able to play this game, a single tear escapes my eye.

This game is amazingly cool. On the first real level, doing a running jump off the edge of the level, and then orbiting around to the other side... This game is an instant win.

At first I felt like it was a 9.0 game for the first hour or two, but it starts to consume you blasting through the levels and now it's justifiably a 9.5 to me.LINKloco

I own the game and it should have been titled "Super Maro Fallacy" because it is nowhere near as "epic", "ground breaking", or "innovative" as ANYONE is claiming.

You jump around in space and go from planetoid to planetoid collectin gems for cying out loud.. Yeah, its just brewing with innovation there.

Oooh but you can walk upside down on some of the ugliest geometry ever put into a game! That's just Earth shattering fun right there!

Oh but the boss battles are just like the ones in every other Mario game. Figure out how to hit them, then do it 5 more times!

Face it Sheep, with the truckloads of cash Nintendo is making these days, they could have taken Mario 64 and rebranded it as Mario Galaxy and the reviewers would have given it the exact same scores because they would have gotten the same fat load of cash dumped on their desks. Oh wait, they practically DID rehash Mario 64, only now you can walk upside down FTW!

The game blows my mind. Easily looks better than anything I've seen on the original xbox.

All running at a smooth 60 FPS with no visible dips so to speak.

Just got it today and no gameplay movies can't do it justice. Clearly the best game I've played this year. So Wii has SMG, PC Crysis, 360 Halo 3 and PS3 has Just Wait...DXGreat1_HGL

I'm about 15 stars in, this is an awesome game so far. After SMS I wondered ifwe'd ever see the real sequel to SM64, it took 11 years but we finally got it.:)Gamer46
