So, 2008 is over. What is the console graphics king?

Rules: you must have an explanation on why you think that the game you chose is the CONSOLE graphics king. Please... dont bring any Crisis/warhead into this...

As for me i am going to have to say that Gears of War 2 is the Console graphics king because of the sheer size and huge scale of the game, excellent framerate, great detail, amazing textures and impressive character models.

I actually agree. People complain how it's ugly or blurry, but I just don't see it. I see this gigantic realized world that not only looks the part, but it acts the part, too. It's a world I can immerse myself in for hours on end, and it feels real.

MGS4. Amazing cutscenes and character models, environments too.

GTAIV. Huge map, no need to load and so on.

I still think Uncharted is the console graphics king closely followed by Gears of War 2, then Assassin's Creed, and Gears of War (character models suck especially during cutscenes). Gears of War 2 looks great but the character models still need more work. The environments are amazing and an improvement on the first one but it still has that grayish look to it. Uncharted is just beautiful with the environments and how fluid the character animations are (which I love about the climbing in Assassin's Creed). Although it is smaller and a single-player only game which I understand. I just wish that something that would have dethroned it now.SOedipus

I have to agree with Uncharted. I just rented that game and I am just amazed. I had no idea. The game is ok overall but the graphics are just amazing.

Crysis. Yep, it's so great, it wins in categories it doesn't even apply for.

On a serious note, I'd say Gears of War 2. Detailed textures that actually have texture to them (despite also having the "covered in slobber" shining effect), some pretty good character models, you know.

Negative, sir. I love NG2, but I don't go around praising the graphics. Don't try to tell me why I like something, I'm quite capable of doing that myself, thank you very much!
