[QUOTE="Some-Mist"][QUOTE="clone01"] So because From Software feels like I shouldn't talk to my friends while I play, It gives them a right to disable something that I paid money for?clone01yes. They're the developer. Noones forcing you to buy it. And the developer has to adhere to specifications from the console manufacturer. It is not their right, and frankly I think its presumptious of them to think so.They requested the option to disable it from MS, and MS said sure. So the console manufacturer obviously disagrees with you that a developer has to adhere to the standards with no exception, and it IS their right to disable that feature.
lol :P .. the developer of this franchise is so uptight that if you stuck a lump of coal up their a$$es, in two weeks you'd have diamonds.
cmon man, uve been here for awhile. I'm sure you were even here when demons souls was about to come out.. are you telling me you never knew DS didn't have any chat? Its not like this is new infoultrakingWe're not talking about voice chat. We're discussing the disabling of party chat...something that, as far as I know, only one other game in the 360's library has done.

I suppose in that sense. And that's certainly a big shame on MS.
Its now been more or less confirmed that Dark Souls will disable party chat. What are your thoughts?
My two cents. Not a big fan. This is a feature that I pay for with XBL gold. I don't think it should be the developers call to remove this. I know this will bring a flurry of posters crying about how the game is "meant" to be played. Sorry, but they're called games for a reason. They are entertainment, and players should get to decide how to approach the way they enjoy a game. I'm curious to know how SW feels about it.

Maybe Dark Souls developers decided, that part of the entertainment that Dark Souls offers is the feeling of solitude and the "anonymous ghosts of other players" approach to multiplayer and party-chat would ruin the experience this game can offer.
I like the guts of FROM Software - "You will be alone in this and the only way of interaction between players will be based on messages, bloodstains and phantoms. Take it or leave it."
[QUOTE="clone01"][QUOTE="Some-Mist"]but that's how it works. As the developer, it is their right to include and disable anything they want. once again, you're not forced to buy the game....the game doesn't permanently disable party chat...so you can still use what you paid for in other games.. if you feel you were wronged, try and sue... complaining on gamespot system wars isn't going to change anything.Some-MistIsn't that the point of an internet forum? To discuss things?A game that you don't have to buy, disables a feature that they don't want you to use - with microsofts approval - and you don't think they should have.. okay. either people are going to agree with your or disagree with you..but there's not much to discuss - you just keep saying the same thing over and over again. I can do the same: don't buy it no one is forcing you to buy it it's their choice what to include/disable don't buy it problem solved.
If you dont want to discuss it, then just dont. But let us who enjoy discussing such a topic do so. Thanks.

I don't mind discussing it, but what's there to discuss? as it has been stated MANY times, (and I'll restate it so you don't have to reread the entire thread) no ones forcing him to buy it...he doesn't need to play dark souls. If he wants to play dark souls and he wants to go against what the developer wants, then he should do the same thing he did with demon's souls and buy it on ps3 and party chat on 360. but from software said it themselves that they choose not to include it for multiple reasons, the main reason being to create that feeling of solitude even with you are partied up with someone.. they can include or disable whatever they choose...they're the developer and they're going to develop the game how they want it. even when players constantly complained about no pause button in demon's souls, did they add one in dark souls? if Microsoft had a problem with it, they wouldn't have approved from software's change/decision. Some gamers are going to agree and complain as well, ps3 fanboys are going to laugh and say that's what you get for saying dark souls will be superior on 360 for party chat, some will say that's how the game is meant to be played. regardless, all he has to say is that he doesn't like from software's choice of disabling party chat...seems like a blog-worthy post to me. with all of that being said multiple times, he's still going on and complaining about it. write a blog post about it.[QUOTE="SquirrelTamer"]Enjoyment=/entertainmentIronBass

I didn't mean entertainment isn't enjoyable but enjoyment isn't always entertaining.Dark souls is better on 360 anyway
PS3 version has an even worse framerate, 360 version chugs in a couple of places, but overall beats the PS3 version

I've never heard of somebody getting bored from doing something that's enjoyable for him/her in that particular time, so I'm going toassume that's wrong.
source? I actually find that pretty surprising seeing as the ps3 was the lead platform, and it was ported to the 360 by namco bandai. I'd hope there isn't too big of a difference, tho I would have guessed that it would perform slightly better on ps3.Dark souls is better on 360 anyway

no, but word of mouth and reviewers are saying PS3 version has a bad framerate nearly at all times
ive been talking to people online who are playing it on 360 and not noticing bad framerates except for a few areas
we will see in a few days with lensoftruth

I don't know I enjoy eating good food yet I'm not entertained while eating it.[QUOTE="HaloinventedFPS"]got a source? I'd assume the same source people use when they talk about 99% of multiplats being better on 360. In other words, nope.Dark souls is better on 360 anyway

Ohh they dont get to use party chat? bu bu butttt what happened to the $60 a year? all wasted
finalstar2007
Stop being such a troll, your honestly one of the biggest thats not banned. How is not having party chat for one gmae all wasted? Is that person going to just play that game all year no.
I'd assume the same source people use when they talk about 99% of multiplats being better on 360. In other words, nope.99% of multiplats actually used to perform better on the 360, that is until the last couple of years when developers became more familiar with the PS3 architecture and used it as a lead platform, examples being vanquish, castlevania: lords of shadow, el shaddai: ascension of the metatron...and so fourth I would bet that they'll be nearly identical or the ps3 version will be slightly better seeing as it's the lead platform... and not a port job done by the publisher.[QUOTE="ultraking"]]got a source? ianuilliam
