Or were they using an Xbox?

When it comes to footage and most of the times, E3 for example, they are always most of the times showing games on PC, so I'm just going to say yes, QB footage was shown on PC. Also:
We must'en never forgot this stunt, never!
Of course Sony have never done that before!
Of course Sony have never done that before!
Yep that too.
Why would you want to market your game on a console when a PC can showcase it so much better? You guys are acting surprised by this for some reason.
They aren't surprised, forum fanboys might be though, or the average consumer
Will it make any difference in the long run which system it was shown on? Does it matter one bit in regards to how good the actual game will be? No. So who gives a sh**.

At least they don't do it on first party exclusives....... Oh wait I guess MS doesn't either since they don't have exclusives.
I usually assume any footage I see of a game not being played on some demo to be from a developer's machine which is usually a PC.
I can't imagine they do builds that can be run on standard hardware just to make marketing videos. The guys probably just fire up a build they are working on and show off a part they know is "done".
Remember when everybody use to throw around the term "bullshot" like 5 times before breakfast? I figured since we no longer do it was just the general acceptance this was an industry wide practice.
Who cares? Preorder the game and get both versions and Alan Wake. Not like you have to really choose.
It was probably running on PC all along. I can't wait to see the disappointment when the actual Xbone version is shown and looks nothing like the PC footage lems have been eating up.
@quadknight: But in reality the Xbox One version will look like PC at med-high settings so no one really cares bro.

do you ever stop to think that maybe people actually worry more about a game actually being good instead of how pretty it's going to look who says anyone will be disappointed.
Graphics might be the benchmark for you Cows but for most gamers it really isn't.

I doubt it. It will probably have a mix of mid and low settings to be honest.

Is that why Xbone still doesn't have a AAA exclusive on metacritic after 2 and a half years?

The PlayStation 4 has ONE, get off your high horse, it's making you look dumb and we both know you're not.

Ohh, poor you. No reason to cry now. Maybe the next generation of xbox will be less of a joke.

Lol... how sad your life must be.
Even exclusives are shown on PC and this game was always supposed to come to PC, so I'd say "Yes" is a safe bet but I expect final PC version to look even better on Ultra.
If there's anything learned from Alan Wake it's that when a game is shown and it looks even remotely "good", it's on PC.
Isn't all footage of AAA games shown on PC these days?
But yeah, it was.
Yup, pretty much.
