So are you just going to forget FF13 and MGS4 exist?

Let's say these two titles don't go 360, I find it hard, as a gamer, to pass these up simply because I don't like PS3. So I think it's safe to say that I will eventually buy a PS3 for these two franchises, and that is why new IPs like Lair, Heavenly Sword, Little Big Planet, and Uncharted are exciting because I'll have more good games to play.

So will you remain a fanboy to the 360 and/or Wii and let FF13 and MGS4 rot on the store shelves? I mean I know not everyone likes these two franchises, but at the same time alot of people do, and alot of those people don't have a PS3. So if you are one of those people is it safe to say you will get a PS3 eventually, or will you abandon it all together? 

If you are a fan of either series, I find it hard, if not impossible, to pass the new installments up. 

Buy a PS3 now, wait a half a year to a full year, is basically what you're suggesting? How are FF13 and MGS4 incentives to buy a PS3 NOW when the price could drop later?Vandalvideo

Im not paying $600 to play just two games. Thats simply not cost effective.

    Now, I would rather play Uncharted than FF13 or MGS4. That game looks fun to me.

I'm apart of the Final Fantasy Experience Union. We all are waiting for Final Fantasy on the PS3. But there are a lot of people in the group who have a open mind about this generation of consoles. For one we do recognize the Western RPG development and even the coming of Mistwalker. There are a lot of FFE members who refuse to purchase a Playstation 3 until the FNC Compilation becomes a success. We have a lot of other members looking at other RPGs as well including MassEffect. But again, there is probably no doubt that Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy vs XIII are going to be two good games.

The Final Fantasy Experience Union is the biggest Final Fantasy club here at Gamespot. We have people who play on the Xbox 360, the Wii, and the PC more then the Playstation 3 currently. Even though it's now unlikely; if a decision was made to put FFXIII on the 360, many of us would go for the cheaper console. But at the sametime; if the PS3 verison was available months before the 360 verison would it really matter? Fans of the series who do not own a next-generation console would attempt get it as soon as possible even if it means spending $200 more. Insane but true. lol

As for Metal Gear Solid 4, being a American myself I am definitely intrigued by this game mainly because of the current situation my country is in. Not to mention I've always love MGS4. If Final Fantasy XIII and MGS4 become AAA my chances of buying a PS3 would be high. But at the moment I just have my PC and Lord of the Ring Online.

Not your style :? you can atleast give those games a chance, and if you don't like them then you can get a refund.

Honestly MGS4 & FF13 are unmissable games, I will definitely buy them

i'm more of a sony hater than a fanboy. i mean i see no reason to hate certain games because they're only on such and such console. liking/hating games should be independent of liking/hating consoles. that's the way i see it. and that's the way i roll. so as a gamer, i will put aside my hate for sony and buy a ps3 (and curse at sony, square, and konami to hell as i'm paying for it) so i can play those games. that's why i have ps2. hate the console but then it still had a lot of good games i like. like god of war, and the ff series

Your title and opening sentence both claim that FF13 and MGS4 are worth buying a PS3 for on their own. The other IPs appeared more as an afterthought. He was merely challenging your first argument.

 same for me, but i dont own a ps3 though, and dont intend to buying either. nothing on it interests me as much, since i already have a 360.

I think the consensus is that very few want to buy an over-priced and over-hyped console that has no games.  Someday, the PS3 collection will be worthwhile and the PS3 price will drop and more people will buy the PS3.  Until then, dude,  no need to make threads that try to make the PS3 sound good.  We all know what it is and what it has to offer right now for gaming and that is:  not much.
