I mean how long do we have to wait? Months? Years? Decades :lol: ?

When will you guys realize that you all have been duped? The PS3 is a failure. You can say hasn't been a whole year yet all you want but why is it that the 360 and Wii pretty much doubled the PS3 sales when they were on the market the same timelength as the PS3 right now? Anyone with 1/2 a brain can see that unless Microsoft and Nintendo fall flat on their faces, the PS3 will not outsell the 360 or Wii this whole generation

Newsflash: Most games that are on the 360 and PS3 look better on the 360. The cell might be a beast, but it really doesn't matter when developers arent going to invest the time to harness it's true power because no one is purchasing PS3's

Now back to my origional question... When will we ever see the true power of the cell? Or are we all relying on false dreams and promises that Sony fed us?

There is no "true" power or "hidden" power of the cell.

There is nothing hardware-wise inside a PS3 that will be "magically" unlocked by downloads.

usually they mean by figuring out how to program for it, since its complicated, not "magically" as you put it. if you take a incompetent programmer, even with the most power PC on the planet, he wont produce much of a game.

err dude making a thread like this so very close to e3 is kinda silly. If sony flops they flop. It's very possible for Sony to steal the show.Everyone onall sides of this console war willhave most of their attention on sony. Everyone knows microsoft's line-up for 07 is pretty damn solid. I'm curious to see how strongly sony will retaliate $100-200 off ? killzone 2 exceeding the 05 trailer, getaway owning gta IV? any/all of thse things coud happen and things no one knows just yet. Sony's gamers day went off welle3should be a step up from that.

And that makes a steep learning curve a very very bad thing for consoles.

Who cares if the PS3 is theoretically capable of making mind-blowing games in 4-5 years time? Nobody, that's who. Because by then a new generation of consoles will be just around the corner - or even on the market already.

So the whole 'just give it time' argument is useless if one wants to play great games *now* and not years into the future - if at all.

Well first of all we all know that exclusives determine who's better graphics wise.

But I'd say Uncharted looks like a real good start to show the power of the cell (I feel dumb just typing that kinda, cuz it gets so bashed in here lol)

We'll see the true power when developers master using the PS3's 8 Cores, 1 main and 7 slave running synergetically, over the 360's core's. even you lemming should be able to see that will take time but own in the end;)

Well how long untill the the 360 showed its power?? 1 year it took to put out gears.

Killzone 2 and MGS4 will show the real power of the cell one year after the ps3s release. And both those games will be way better looking then gears.

95% of ports were first built on the 360 then brought over to the PS3. Look at the exclusives and Oblivion, the PS3 is powerful. It can make ports look and run better and have exclusives run beautifully and look amazing.Wasdie
