I just finished GTAV and, well, it is a fantastic game. The amount of work put into it is mindbending. Most linear games doesn't have that kind of detail, of polishness. The three protagonist work well and so does driving, shooting, melee, flying... everything really. And I still have plenty to see. Also, GTA has an identity, a soul if you will. With its humor and writing, it really is a game that pays off in multiple ways.

All that said, we have Watch Dogs coming out soon. And, like it or not, it will be compared heavily with Rockstar's masterpiece. Do you think it will stand up to that? Be in the same level?

Personally, I don't have much faith in Ubisoft. I do like Assassin's Creed, but I see it as the most overrated franchise this gen. Those are games there are great to look at, see a trailer or something, but when you actually get to play it, its flaws, and there are many of them, become apparent. This is how I'm seeing Watch Dogs now, it won't be as good as it looks.

Perhaps the single player will stand up to GTA V but Watch Dogs won't stand up to GTA Online

GTA 5 has the luxory of having so much content in density it in it due to the structure of the game. Wheres watchdogs I dont see it having sam amount of content tennis or golf or scubadiving. Theres gona be limited amount of objectives you can do with a hacker. That said Far cry 3 was open world done right and hopefully watchdogs can do the same.

Not a chance.

Im worried it'll have the same downfalls that Assassins creed has now. They all look so similar.

Ubisoft are awesome devs. Sands Of Time trilogy, Beyond Good And Evil, various Tom Clancy series before they were run into the ground (Splinter Cell in particular is sweet), Rayman, Assassin's Creed, Anno, Far Cry, they do some great things.

I feel that Watchdogs will be a really top quality action adventure, with less freedom and wackiness than GTA but possibly a more rewarding single player campaign.

It will be an awesome game in its own right, but comparing it to GTA V is unfair. Watchdogs looks more like True Crime than GTA, to me.

I think I will like it better because I hated GTA5. Also in a surprise upset Assassin's Creed IV will be better than Watchdogs. Just my thoughts from all the footage I have seen.

this statement comes up alot. People thought the samething about Portal (all you do is make holes and jump threw them). Obviously they are wrong about portal. It may only have hacking, but that don't make it redundant/repetitive.

In terms of SALES? Nothing will beat GTA5 excpet another CoD cash-grab or GTA6.

In terms of critical quality? Possibly. But GTA5 got a lot of 10s and 9s. It'll be hard for ANY game in ANY genre to beat that.

It will stand up to GTA 4, as far as being more serious and grounded in reality. GTA 5 went back to the San Andreas crazy ways, it's hard to compare really except that you can drive cars and it's a city sandbox game.

The more they show the worse it looks, when it was first revealed it was like the future of gaming, now it looks like assassins creed without the good parts of assassins creed.

For myself, I couldn't care less for GTA so there is no doubt that I will find Watch Dogs to be the far superior game.

However, it really comes down to personal taste.

It certainly has a much more interesting premise. It'll end up being either really great or mediocre.

Considering GTA V's five year development period, its main story arch should have spanded 300 missions or more.

Dont see why it cant. GTA5 was a massive disappointment. The story was fun, but not much to it other than that. GTAV's San Andreas is a pretty boring world.

Its open ended and has some strategic freedom. If you do end up doing the samething over and over again then thats your fault. Its not repetitive, you are.

smart man. I play lots of their games but I always go in with lowered expectations. It works out fairly well. Far Cry 3 was a great surprise, but it always seems like Ubi's games succeed in spite of themselves. Especially on the PC.

no way.

watch dogs looks good but this is still a case of freshman franchise vs senior franchise.

it took all the experence r* has to make gta 5 what it is.
