Sony.
Refused to guruantee I would get a 60 gig ps2 bc unit back even though I was paying out to have it fixed, Luckily me and a friend got together and replaced the hdmi port that had failed in my current one.

Hard to say I've only experienced customer service from Sony:

I've gotten 3 different ones, it was within the warranty time though so I didn't have to pay for it. Therefore I can't put my vote on Sony.

Not enough experience to make a judgement. And I'm sure a lot people don't here either, but will comment anyways.

I never needed to contact Sony when my PS2 broke. I just phone the shop and say "Give me a new PS2" and they come with it and take the old one away the same day :P

the 2 times ive ever had to deal with nintendo they have gone above and beyond. They fixed my GC after being out of warrenty for 5 months, and they paid as well as paid shipping. I dropped my Wii off a desk and it started making a buzzing sound, which got louder of about a year, then i sent it it, 3 years old for a new disc drive. After a long talk with the rep, they paid for that as well, but i had to pay shipping. As for microsoft with my xbox360, went though 2 the first year it came out, then i was on m 3rd by the time i got my Wii @ launch, i ended up getting rid of it to a friend, who has had to replace it 2x. so, in other words, my xbox360 has been fixed 5 times, and my Wii 1. My PS3 has had no issues in 2 years, but my figures are crossed. and if you want to count PC, then gateway was very helpful when i fried a mother board(power surge???) and they replaced at no cost. Had a power supply go on a dell, and they wouldnt replace and a local shop wanted over $100 for one. so i bought a gateway, suped it up, and it been my gaming pc for 5 years but my ps3 gets more use now.

I'm shocked at the poll results. Are you guys freaking serious!? Microsoft should be winning in the poll for BEST customer service. To say MS has the worst is just plain wrong. That's not opinion. That's fact. When I got my RROD Microsoft had the decency to send me a new 360 for free, and it wasn't even in warranty. You know what Sony said when my PS3 got YLOD? Tough luck, it's your fault not ours, so were're going to charge you quite a lot if you want it repaired. Sony has better customer service than Microsoft my ass.

Everyone gets their 360 repaired for free from RROD. Not just me. For something as common as YLOD, it's ridiculous Sony didn't take the same stance for the PS3's massive hardware issue.

You make no sense. Sony will repair ALL issues under warranty. And for the first 2.5 years of Xbox 360 debut, MS warranty on RROD was only one year and a lot of people had to buy another one because the warranty expired. If your PS3 wasn't repaired because it was out of warranty that's not Sony's responsibility. At least you can pay them $127 for a refurbished one with a warranty. That's like buying a used car without warranty and having to pay for a repair yourself. Either way, your logic is flawed. But if you think MS is great, fine by me. You haven't had to return 5 Xbox 360's, including two Elites, wait on hold for 20-40 min. each time, and deal with outsourced customer service who read a script and make it very hard not to say "everything can go to hell".

Microsoft was nice to me both times I called them. They even sent me a free headset when they were unable to fix a problem and were very kind on helping me with my account

Sony while nice made me reset my whole account for nothing...

No, you make no sense. Considering it's a very common fault with the hardware, you're damn right it's Sony's responsibility whether it's within warranty or not. Microsoft realised this, and after a while owned up to the fact it was a common fault with the hardware and did the right thing by repairing it for free every time. Why can't Sony do the same thing for YLOD? If it's not Sony's responsibility, then guess what? RROD was never Microsofts responsibility. If that's the case, you should be praising MS for such outstanding customer service. I'm not saying MS did that out of the goodness of their hearts or anything. They did it because of all the negative press surrounding RROD. For some reason YLOD doesn't get as much attention, even though it IS just as big of an issue. At the end of the day, the biggest issue with 360 is sorted out quickly and free of charge. Sony gives you the middle finger when it comes to the biggest PS3 issue.

I don't know what issues you've had with the 360 that made you have to wait on hold 20-40 minutes each time, but it sure as hell couldn't have been the RROD. Fun fact. With RROD, you don't even have to pick up the phone to arrange your repair. You can arrange it all quickly and easily online. By the way with regards to you having to return 5 360s, that has nothing to do with customer service. That has to do with crappy hardware. Personally I've only had to return one 360 though.

The only one I've dealt with is Nintendo for the DS Lite crack. They ended up saying it wasn't cracked (one could clearly see the hairline crack on the hinge) and sent it back to me. A day or two after getting it back, the entire hinge broke off :(.

Service?

MS, no contest. When my PS3 had the Red Screen of Death, I got a new one in a month. When my 360 broke, it took 2 months for them to get the NOTICE.

All of them suck. I really don't feel like talking to Indians who speak broken English over the phone.

Jebus213

Well that's, a nice and considerate answer......

For the question I have top go with Sony. When my Xbox 360 broke, Customer Service got me a new one for free, and when I couldn't log into live They helped me by telling me calmly that a couple of people couldn't

When I called Sony CS It was asking them about why I couldn't login to PSN (This was when it was hacked) and I think the dude was so tired of hearing that question he was on the verge of telling me to ""Go **** myself" although I guess I shouldn't ask a question that's been asked a bunch of times already.

MS. My xbox broke and they told me to go screw myself and that I was a moron who couldn't do anything right. They also said they would charge $1,000 for the repair. Sony told me it wasn't my fault my PS3 broke, they repaired it for free then took me out for beers. They also gave me $1,000 for my trouble.

The only company I've had to contact is microsoft and they were pretty good. I only voted for them because when my first xbox red ringed the one I got back was also faulty so I had to send it back a 2nd time.

can't pick any because i haven't contacted any. BUt i can see why people are choosing Ms.

I remember there was this thread a little while back made when microsoft offered a 1$ live, but you were unable to cancel it online, you had to call. calling = unneccesary waiting for somethin that could have been done with ease with a click of a button online. anyways, things like this are sure to get people angry.

Microsoft, based on how many times i've had to contact them.

though to be fair, the first time they told me it was normal for my 360 to sound like a jet engine. :P

Microsoft didn't solve problems until they started getting sued by the masses.

Microsoft.. The fact you actually have to get on the phone and wait in line to cancel your XBL account when using a credit card in 2011 is RIDICULOUS.. You should be able to directly cancel it from your 360 or computer.

I only had to contact Sony, they had great customer support but it would have cost way too much to repair my ps3.

Worst, Sony. Best, Nintendo, they always have a happy, optimistic costumer service agent ready to help me. They helped me get me my Zelda CD. :)

From my experience; Worst - Microsoft. I rang them for something regarding my XBL account, after being put on hold multiple times by someone who wasn't even British I was cut off for some random reason. Best - Sony. My PS3 died and I rang them to inquiry about sending it back, straight through to a British call centre and she was very helpful.
