So got a PS4 for Xmas with Drive Club

And now I completely understand why cows only post pictures of it when it's dark, raining or snowing.

The trackside asset quality is so piss poor that any time of day setting that's even the slightest bit bright reveals just how bad the texture and asset quality is.

Normal maps are low resolution, tree's and foliage are a copy and paste job, shadow LOD is poor, texture filtering is poor, textures have no 'depth' at all...... and the image quality is piss poor!!!.

Cows explain why this game is constantly touted as being graphically impressive?

Yeah, it's not the greatest looking game, it's not a bad looking game either, but there's a lot of smoke and mirrors at work and all they post are cherry picks.

Oh, in a lot of instances it does, I just spent about 10 minutes in the game grabbing these a while back, I didn't go nuts looking for problems.

The game is very overrated graphically, but the real issue is with the controls. *Cringes*

I tried the free ps+ version and deleted it 10 minutes later. I hear the controls are better now, but there are just better games to invest my time in.

Congrats on the PS4 TC, it is a nice console to own if you like jrpg's and Sony 1st party. (I'm a big jrpg guy)

@iambatman7986: I had the Nathan Drake Collection, TLOU: Remastered, Killzone:SF, Drive Club, Infamous, Destiny Legendary Edition, Metro Redux collection and The Order....... Completed the first Uncharted and started the second and finished the TLOU this evening....

As far as Drive club, the free version was alright and it looked fine. For Ps4 I still prefer the multi play NFS Rivals.

The problem with Driveclub is it's touted as this graphical showpiece by all of these cows, as a result people pick it apart and it crumbles, it can look really good but it's got a lot of very ugly things going on.

Yes. The game is glorious. Packed with a massive amount of content. And an absolute blast to play.

Kinda what i thought when i downloaded the free version. Weather effects and cars detail is what the game shines at. Assets were shit, at least in the maps available on the free 5club.

Yeah, the handling in Driveclub is super funky.

Because cows keep trying to convince everybody that this game is an "excellent racer," even though most people know better.

That's why I refer to it as "Adverse Weather Club". It really saddens me Evolution abandoned Motorstorm for this rubbish. Hope you got more than just that for Christmas.

I found the game to be to hard. I loved that I was able to use the D-pad for steering though. Something you don't see in new racing games anymore

If you go looking for problems you will find them in anything.

If the game had consistent graphics no matter where you looked it would not be optimised very well and run like crap. What matters is what it game looks and plays like in motion.

Sell it, get an Xbox One and grab Rise of the Tomb Raider!

Well what you get looks like shit then, except in low-res gifs at night/rain/snow.

Not very bright...

The game is incredible. The most fun arcade/sim-light racer right now with massive support from Evolution and a gigantic amount of content being added frequently. From the huge amount of people playing online the sales of the retail+digital have to be huge going by the number of players with all of the non-free tracks.

You'll find that belongs to Project Cars..... And I've yet to see anything in Drive Club that would qualify as being the very best racing game this gen.

DriveClub's biggest problem for me was the AI wasn't effected at all by the weather. My car felt like it was ice skating on the same tracks.

Yea Project Cars is beautiful however Gameplay king right now on consoles is definitely Forza 6.

Too bad MS and Sony didn't give us consoles that could run Project Cars at a LOCKED 60 FPS. That would have been a true next gen leap.

That's more to do with the developers not wanting to strip the game back to the point where a locked 60fps could be done..... But then there's the argument that if you strip a game back to a point could it still be considered the same game?

Looks better than any Forza game to date by the screenshots I just saw posted above.
