[QUOTE="FrozenLiquid"]The art direction of the GTA IV graphics mod is crap. You got high res and shiny everything, but the art styIe suffers incredibly for it. I uninstalled the mod after a quarter way through the game.
I don't mind the lack of minute detail in Rockstar's games because their games are so visually consistent it doesn't break immersion. Even a good looking game like Crysis would have small breaks in immersion with fugly rock textures and stuff.
The only thing that's gonna get me is the sub-30 framerate on consoles, and if it happens, the poor optimization on PC.

Use some earlier incarnations of the mod (1.2 or before 1.2). It was only in the last couple patches did they introduce all the exaggerated bloom, lens glare and DOF.No, I'm talking about the ENB series in general. While the ENB modder always offers pretty graphics, the art styIe always suffers in the games he mods. It happened in the SA mod, and it happened in the GTA IV mod. It's a similar effect to the Half-Life 2 cinematic mod, which makes Half-Life 2 look cutting edge, but it doesn't look like Half-Life 2 anymore, but a bunch of pretty disjointed things.
I'm sure if Rockstar wanted to, it could produce the level of graphics seen in the GTA IV mod. But there's more to the aesthetics of a video game than pure muscle.
