UC2, MGS4 And of course FFXIII are all examples of how BD has shown its worth to gaming.well

[QUOTE="Generalmojo"]what you on about graphics? its shown its worth to gaming not improve grphics my freind 8) and how did it prove it's worth? it gave us the great MGS4 exclusive to PS3 8)[QUOTE="delta3074"]blu-ray does not make the graphics better, the graphics are limited by the RAM, not the disk size, and most of the space on the blu-ray for MGS 4 was used up for lossless 7.1 audio, which i admit is good if you own a HD Tv that supports it.kolkov01
and how did it prove it's worth? it gave us the great MGS4 exclusive to PS3 8) We're talking about blu-ray, not sony's money here[QUOTE="kolkov01"][QUOTE="Generalmojo"] what you on about graphics? its shown its worth to gaming not improve grphics my freind 8)

It's not needed this gen.... doesn't mean its not nice to have though.... at least making it popular this gen, might help with prices next gen when it will be needed.
MGS4 cant fit on a DVD-9

Maybe if they had cut out some of the 150 cut scenes :D
Kojima really should just take up Anime and be done with it.

haha, I really like this OP :P Mostly, no. There have been a few things it has helped with, like having multiple language tracks and the like.only the ps3 needs it so it can store game facets over and over casue its less memory and slower drive needs it..daveg1and here's the best post in this thread. The 360 has proven that (for the most part) standard DVD has worked perfectly fine. There have been very few games that have required multiple disc and games such as MGS4 on the PS3 fail to impress me with taking up a full BR disc. Before all you cows flame me and say that that's only because I haven't played it, I have it and lost interest after the "laughing Octo" battle. :( Graphically, MGS4 is NOTHING special and could've easily been done (probably better as well) on the 360 seeing how the 360's textures tend to look cleaner and more detailed. Uncharted 2 looks incredible, but I highly doubt that BR really had anything to do with that. ND is a talented developer and I really think that U2 could've been done just as well on the 360 given time and an honest effort.
and how did it prove it's worth? it gave us the great MGS4 exclusive to PS3 8) take out redundant data, HD audio (ridiculous choice IMHO) and current texture compression and MGS4's file size would drop DRASTICALLY. :|[QUOTE="kolkov01"][QUOTE="Generalmojo"] what you on about graphics? its shown its worth to gaming not improve grphics my freind 8)

Yeah but it didn't have to be on PS3. Ask yourself if it could of been done on any other platform (hint: the answer is yes) and then you will see that while it is a game many love it did not prove Blu-Ray's worth to gaming.
[QUOTE="BlackTragedy"]UC2, MGS4 And of course FFXIII are all examples of how BD has shown its worth to gaming. Worth spending about $200 extra on the PS3 with blu-ray than if it just played DVDs like the 360, and making the system harder to develop for which made many games exclusive to 360?well
