extortion has nothing to do with call of duty elite being a ''ripoff' its not even close to tongue and cheek, thats like saying mcdonalds sold me a bigmac, and the secret sauce doesnt taste right, so they must be racist towards me and my red shirt....doesnt make sense does it?

Not sure have not played MW3 in over a week, and COD elite didnt want to work for me, the servers were always down. Not paying for it though, the free stuff sounds cool, but I hope it actually works next time I play the game.

Other then free monthly maps, some web show and some clan creation thingy that lets you create a clan you can level up in, Elite is free. Its basically a giant Battlelog type stat tracker, without the annoying interface and required use to play.

If it weren't for the maps though, the paid subscription would not be worth it.

Nothing I would pay for, but it's not esxtertion. They arn't the mafia coming to your business and making you pay them money or they kill you, no one is forcing you to buy it.

I wonder if the xbox version of Elite is cheaper than the others, it would suck to have to pay for Live and then Elite on top of that. Not bashing the Live service mind you, just that I think Elite should be cheaper for them than the others.

But the definition of extortion is not a service that gives you maps $20 less then normal price. That is called a "discount".

Remember that word, "discount".

I'll pass on Elite. I don't know if I'll be buying any of the map packs when they're $15 a pop.
