Umm,don't you own a gaming PC?
If you want to experience Witcher 2 visuals at their finest,go with the PC version, easy choice...

Imaginary gaming PCs only work on system wars, but can't play games.[QUOTE="reach3"]

no i bought a cpu and gpu awhile back but returned them after some poeple in the hardware forum told me i made a mistake with what i got. i havent bought anthing else after i returned them because all this next gen news starting to trickle out. Not sure if I should wait and see if 720 will be a powerhouse and get that, or just build a high end pc now and start enjoying the games. All I can picture is me buying a $1000 beast pc and then the 720 releasing a year later with close to the same specs for $400 or less....[QUOTE="Rocker6"][QUOTE="reach3"]

Imaginary gaming PCs only work on system wars, but can't play games.Same with imaginary PS3's and Xbox 360's (though in OP's case, probably the former), which work in establishing that you are a manticore on SW, but make your opinions on a game you haven't played rather invalid.
Beyond the fanboyism...etc
It looks great you'll get alot of hyperbole but but the pc version looks better...etc..etc
Ignore the pc version the 360 version looks great probably one of the best looking games on consoles today, I recommend it highly the game looks great and plays great and is great.
Side note: if you do have a pc capable get the pc version though it looks the best.
Thats what I don't get. Like I look at Crysis pics vs consoles, and it makes the console versions look ancient by comparison, yet when people do the witcher 2 pc vs console shots, I don't see much difference.Beyond the fanboyism...etc

Huh? The 360$ released at $400 and matched high end pcs, why cant 720?Thats what I don't get. Like I look at Crysis pics vs consoles, and it makes the console versions look ancient by comparison, yet when people do the witcher 2 pc vs console shots, I don't see much difference.reach3
No there is a massive difference once it's on PC on High-Ultra. The Xbox version is similar to the PC version of medium with crappy lighting, which if you ask me is pretty good for such old hardware. There's a lot of 360 bullshots out there though.

Huh? The 360$ released at $400 and matched high end pcs, why cant 720?A 720 is not going to have the power of a 680 or 7970. Those are high end, and it maxes every game on the market at over 60 fps. I guarentee the 720 will be closer to a medium spec'd gaming PC.

Huh? The 360$ released at $400 and matched high end pcs, why cant 720? cost, size, power consumption and heat. Graphics cards today are a lot bigger, more expensive, hotter and power hungry than they were in 2005.[QUOTE="Rocker6"]

Honestly, there is very little chance of next gen systems being able to produce the technical graphics and visual fidelity present in games like PC versions of Crysis 1/2,Witcher 2,Metro 2033,BF3,Arma,etc...
And that is without even bringing the mods into the discussion(take a look what modders did with Skyrim)...
You'll probably dismiss this as elitism ramble, but well, who cares...
Bash away ;)

Huh? The 360$ released at $400 and matched high end pcs, why cant 720?It matched 2 year old PC specs at best...the only difference is in this that the cards were customized with more shaders to give them a boost where they had none.

Yep,also, today, when you're discussing high-end,you must take SLI/CF systems into the account, which add an aditional layer to the discussion.Back in 2005,they were a very small niche market, but now, their userbase is growing, due to much better driver support,simplicity,etc...
No way next gen consoles will be able to match a say,680GTX SLI system...

really depends on what level it's being played on. TW2 can look average to mediocre on less than the higher range of settings, but If you push it to the highest setting it is one of, if not the best looking un modded PC games out.
TW2 didn't look all that impressive to me until I was able to get the settings working right with the patch, after I was impressed. However TW2 still suffers from archaic geometry that many PC games seem to have. many of the chracter models (actual faces and bodies for the most part, what they have on the bodies make up for it somewhat tho) and hair are sh!t terrible no matter what the setting. I don't know how good it can look on 360 considering most of the geometry is going to stay the same and 360 is not going to be able to acheive PC's higher graphical setting.
personally, from the screenshots (just going on looks) I think the xbox version looks pretty good compared to the PC version (better in some areas) but those screens used to compare probably arent' pushing the higher PC settings.

Yeah I forgot about that, you go onto any online gaming PC site and the amount of SLI/CF rigs available are endless- if anything just a single high end card isn't considered THAT high end anymore- though a single GTX 670 or 680 will run anything on max.PC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>360 when it comes to TW2's visuals.ShadowsDemonand? Dont worry so much about graphic dude. If you like RPG's then get it on 360. I have had it on PC for a year and am yet to finished it, im only on the 2nd chapter but its a great game. Just to add, due to one of my hard drives failing and me not backing up my saves, I had to restart the game. I played in a different way and the changes it makes to the game is really good, its like having two seperate games almost so lots of replay value. Visuals look great on 360 from what I have seen so I dont think you can go wrong with getting it on 360..
System wars is system wars, it's a fantasy world of insecure little boys (mentally and emotionally.)
In the real world people use equipment they already own to get alot of value out of it.
If a 360 is what you own right now then USE IT. Get use out of your property.

Top of the line pc from late 2003 would be a 2.8ghz p4 and geforce 4600. Minimum spec on any multiplat pc game is way, way beyond this.Geralt looks good, everything else looks bad (like God of War 3)
you notice how all comparrison pictures of 360 vs PC are zoomed in on geralt? i wonder why that is?
its a decent all rounder its pretty good altough its not the best, you'll tend to find the ones nitpicking are either playing the game under a microscope/digital foundry followers who think what they spout as gospel even though it doesnt actually bloody matter or folks who played on PC.

the cutscenes in the 360 version are not rendered in real time, but on PC they are
I've played a bit of it mysel, looks pretty good, might be one of the best looking 360 games out there. But it's not the best looking, it's not going to win any graphic awards or anything, and there are far better looking titles out there (UC and KZ).
But the game is still good.

Anyone who needs to question that is delusional.
