The Wii is a necessary evil. Like it or not. I'm almost embarassed to stand in front of the Wii section of games sometimes. The few great games are worth it but damn...its hard to ignore this katrina-size flood of crap.

I didn't expect wii 3rd party to be all that good this year. good games take more than a year to make and we know few 3rd party started on any wii games over a year ago. I expect that next year and esp. next holiday season to be much better for 3rd party.Ontain

Not really. Not at all. Not even close. Third party support is vastly superior. First party has more new IP's and online is way better. All its doing is murdering the PS3 in sales. Thats it.

When the hardware is complete fail with not even surround sound or HD to back it up. Software isn't even that good either.

Those are 6 games that could have potentionally scored higher if thosethird party developers just took the Wii more seriously.

Wii is like whore... those developers are just abusing it. A game scoring 2 or 3 shouldn't be allowed to appear in the market. At least not for 50 euro's or higher.

Especially with Guitar Hero 3 for Wii hanging in the NPD for another month. Seems like a major missed opportunity on EA's part, especially when they seem desperate to get into the casual gamer space on the Wii.

True, if you consider multiplats... but if you look at thirdparty exlusives...not so much... the Wii has it's must play games... that are only playable on the Wii... where as the PS3... not so much apparently... (People aren't buying them so they must not be must haves)

Hah! Don't get me wrong, the 360 is definitly had great 3rd party support and the wii did not overall, in 07. Simply that the wii still has some good and great 3rd party games that are worth looking into. I own allthose 360 games in my gamertag, but i also own trauma center, zack and wiki, the original raving rabbids and big brain academy. Diversity is key. That's what really makes these games worth owning, in some cases even more so then, say, call of duty 4. They are good and great games on their own, but the fact that there are so few other games out there like them increases their worth to me.. which is why i can drop the money for both those 360 and wii games.

As far as my gaming experience, I'd choose Zack and Wiki over bioshock and halo 3 at least. Possibly on par with the orange box, but not gears(gears is my 3rd fav game this gen though).

I'm happy with the support, actually. Plenty of worthwhile games came out this fall, IMO. Tons of crap, yes, but so what? For comparison, look at the end of 2005 for the Nintendo DS. Which is it best remembered for, games like Phoenix Wright, Castlevania: DoS, and Trauma Center: Under the Knife (Didn't even get AA! Gasp!) or games like Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects, King Kong, and Elf Bowling 1 & 2? Over time people will remember the good, forget the bad, and this thread will look very silly.Hoffgod

That game is incredibly fun with multiple friends. I was playing it 3 players during the Thanksgiving holidays and having a blast.

It's so cheesy, it's good fun though.

The PS3 has watered down 360 ports and resistance. You cows seriusly need to accept your place this gen, third in sales, third in software quality

I think the reason is very simple. Okay to start out, wii third party software suffered from a lack of investment, and/or total unfamiliarity with the bizarre new controls. Those problems would normally have been solved by now, but the problem is that these companies releasing cruisn and scl wanted to capture some of that xmas sales because they didnt' have faith in their product. They felt that it would never be truly great no matter how much they invested.

The wii should start to see some serious investment from third parties in terms of time and money, since wii sales are high enough to justify the investment. It is as simple as that. If you make a crappy game on the wii it will be lost in a sea of software, no doubt. 08/09 will be like the second and third year of the ds, where devs start to really get the hang of the nuiances of the system and see that consumer demand for this new, bizarre tech is very strong.

That game is incredibly fun with multiple friends. I was playing it 3 players during the Thanksgiving holidays and having a blast.

so we have 3 "great" games a couple of "good" games,2 "average" games and several games that no one was going to get anyway. This problem needs to be addressed. How? This happens with every successfull console, it hapeened with the ps2, it happened to the NES and now it's happening to the wii. How is this surprising?
